/Warning/: This chapter contains:- cursing, confusion, a little bit of sadness, fluff, Liu Mingyu having the day of his life, and Shen Jiu's reaction to chocolate! All reviews are appreciated.
P.S.: This story takes place in the PIDW's timeline (Precisely Shen Jiu's Disciple Era) and the modern world (Undecided Timeline) to some extent but with many major changes. Fair warning, English is not my first language, and I am still a bit unsure about all the roles and titles appropriated for characters but I will try my best to give this fic the attention it deserves...
Chapter 4
Shen Jiu narrowed his eyes, slowly surveying the hallway for any sign of life; when he saw none, Shen Jiu's eyes darted around as he tried to sneak silently through the house, trying not to wake the people sleeping in their rooms after such a tiring night. Finally, after what felt like ages of imprisonment in this strange and insane world; Shen Jiu would finally return home, but first, he just needed to escape this house without waking its people.
Breath picking up, and with a soul that cried and mourned the loss of Xiu Ya (He spent so much time searching for it last night, only to come empty-handed; too weak and Qi depleted to even summon it) but Shen Jiu must persist, he must escape this scary place even if it meant leaving behind his most prized possessions... even if every part of him was writhing and crying and protesting, and even calling him insane for daring to return to his time wearing strange clothes and not even having his Qiankun Pouches and Xiu Ya to accompany him; but Shen Jiu wasn't Shen Jiu if he didn't know how to navigate such madness that was life.
It had been precisely a day since Shen Jiu had returned from that cursed 'Hospital' when he was told by Liu-Shidi (Stupid Liu-Shidi, so tall and huge and holding him like he was nothing but a child that was having a tantrum even when he was a grown-ass man!) and those women that he was going to stay in this scary and strange future against his will; even when they had told him that they would make sure he returned back home after checking on him in the Healing Pavilion... stupid... Shen Jiu should have known not to trust the words of humans because they are such liars and assholes.
It had been a day since they returned to the Liu Mansion, where his Shidi gave him the room closest to him, and then everyone tricked toward their rooms to sleep, leaving Shen Jiu alone in his room as he formulated his plan to escape. It was after a few Shichens, when he knew that his Shidi and his family were in deep sleep, that Shen Jiu finally put his plan into action part of him was happy that this world had no Cultivation (It made his job easier with his heightened sense, and nimble steps, and his ability to resist sleepiness that was enhanced by Cultivation, enabling him to go six days without sleep if needed) that would stop Shen Jiu from achieving his goal of returning back home.
Looking around and finding no one in sight, Shen Jiu let out a relieved sigh as he finally saw the doors to the inner gardens, his heart pounding in his chest as he rushed toward them with the plan of returning home. Looking around once more time, just to make sure, Shen Jiu grinned in triumph, opening the door and rushing through the garden to reach the well...
"Oh? Did I wake you up?" Just to have his hopes and dreams shattering before his eyes when he saw Liu Qingge standing near the well, looking at Shen Jiu with a look that told Shen Jiu that his Shidi knew exactly what he was thinking of.
"You..." Shen Jiu's voice cracked, anger taking hold of him as he saw his Shidi's smile widen dangerously before he raised what looked like a ten-ton flat rock and put it at the entrance of the well, sealing it shut... What the hell? Didn't those people tell him that Cultivation doesn't exist in this world?! Then how did his Shidi manage to raise this fucking stone and seal the well shut without breaking a sweat?! "Why...?" Shen Jiu gazed at the stone with pain and despair, knowing that even with his high Cultivation he couldn't move that fucking rock unless he wanted to blast it with spiritual energy and possibly destroy the well with it... fucking Physical Cultivators!
