/Warning/: This chapter contains:- cursing, sadness, a little bit of angst, crying, Liu Mingyu having the worst day of his life, and Shen Jiu meeting someone new! All reviews are appreciated.

P.S.: This story takes place in the PIDW's timeline (Precisely Shen Jiu's Disciple Era) and the modern world (Undecided Timeline) to some extent but with many major changes. Fair warning, English is not my first language, and I am still a bit unsure about all the roles and titles appropriated for characters but I will try my best to give this fic the attention it deserves.

Chapter 7

"I want to go back home... Please..."

...(Something was wrong...

A feeling that had persisted and taken hold of Liu Yanli for months now, refusing to give her any respite, not even for a moment. Driving Liu Yanli up the wall, as she tried to decipher where that feeling had come from and why would it refuse to go away, even after Liu Yanli spent days and months reassuring herself that everyone was fine, that those close to her heart were doing fine and where safe and sound and alive!

Something was wrong ... Liu Yanli could only feel her emotions going highway the longer that feeling persisted and refused to go away, making the woman doubt herself and spend many nights sleepless and awake; sleep eluded her to the point where she felt nothing but anger and the constant feeling of being around the edge until she felt like her sanity was slipping from her fingers.

Something was wrong ... A feeling that Liu Yanli had only felt once in her lifetime, and that was centuries ago, in a time so different than this one and where she used to be nothing but a child that didn't have anything to her name, a child that was mocked and made fun of to the point of thinking that death would have been more preferable than life... a life where she lost her precious people to the world that was never forgiving or kind...

Something was wrong ... Liu Yanli knew something was wrong to the point of it being irreparable... she knew it, and she felt it... in the way that her children were trying to hide something from her and always changing the subject whenever she dared to question them. In the way, they would whisper to each other when they thought Liu Yanli was in seclusion and would shut up whenever they saw her.

Something was wrong ... It was in the way, her A-Xuan was constantly angry and looking a step away from starting a war, and the way that his wife would grimace and scrunch her nose in disgust. The way, that her other children were leaning back with amusement on their faces, looking as if this was some play they were going to enjoy and have the time of their lives seeing. In the way that Xian Anxiu sent her that vague letter, telling her not to worry, and that he had handled everything so she didn't need to disturb her seclusion and come to Cang Qiong.
