December is officially here, meaning I only have two more weeks of a busy school schedule until I get a break three weeks.

Today also marks the day I can start putting up all my Christmas decor and spend my days shopping for presents, watching hallmark movies in comfy pj's, and bake anything and everything. Growing up holidays were terrible and usually spent lonely. But now, now I love holidays. I can spend them with people I love and I can actually celebrate the holiday.

Currently I was out with Mari trying to find the perfect tree for this year. We were walking around a tree farm with hot chocolate. Christmas music was playing throughout and kids were running around pointing at trees while their parents followed closely behind.

I was determined to find a tree bigger and fuller than last year.

"Oooh, what about this one?" Mari pointed to one on our left and I turned to look at it, taking a moment to walk all the way around.

"Mmm, it has a bald spot in the back."

"So? It's the back, nobody will see it." I gave her a look. "Fine, we'll keep looking." I smiled looping my arm through hers. We looked at a couple more but none of them spoke to me until we reached the end of the row and I saw it.

"This one!" I squealed, letting go of Mari and skipped up to it, walking around it to make sure it was good enough. It was the perfect height and shape. Nice and full on the bottom and a perfect top to put a topper on it. "It's perfect." I turned to look at Mari with a smile and she rolled her eyes with a smile.

"I'll go find someone who works here, hang on." I watched as she turned away and grabbed someone.

Next thing I knew two men were hauling a wrapped up tree onto my car, trying it down to make sure it didn't fly off when we drove. I thanked them before I got into the car and rolled my eyes at Mari making eyes at one of them.

Mari and I were singing along to Christmas music on the way home, taking every turn and stop slow so the tree wouldn't fall of. Once we got back to my house we started to cut the ties and attempted to pull the tree off the car.

We got it off the car in a big thump but once it was on the ground we couldn't get it back up.

"Maybe I picked too big of a tree?" I gave Mari an innocent look and she gave me one of annoyance.

"You think?" She put her hands on her hips, "I don't know how were going to get this inside let alone in the stand. And David is out of town isn't he?" I nodded my head, trying to think of a solution. We tried one more time to lift it and we got it somewhat off the ground but then we were dragging the bristles and damaging the tree.

"This is impossible! Why did we do this when David was gone?"

"Because I always do it December first!"

"Well, it may have to just sit out here until he gets back." She had her arms crossed over her chest, staring at the tree and then staring at the distance to the front door while I thought of ways we could do this.

And I unfortunately only had one solution that I did not want to do. But I didn't want to leave the tree outside to get ruined.

"Hang on." I gave Mari a look before taking on my phone and finding his contact.

"Hello?"

"Hi, it's uh, it's me. I have a weird request, you can say no if you're busy."

"No, it's okay. I'm not busy. What's up?"
