Christmas 2014
Part TwoHarper
Harry and I were curled up on the floor in front of the fireplace, warming up after our activities upstairs.
I leaned more into his side, cradling my cup of hot coco to my chest, taking a small sip and sighing at the rich taste hitting my tongue. The sun is setting and filtering warm light through the curtains, soft Christmas music playing through our speakers, Harry's hand rubbing soothing circles on my leg.
I smiled as I watched the fire in front of me, in awe at how my life has turned out.
Never in a million years did I imagine I would be here. Not even the whole famous boyfriend, having more money than I could ever need, traveling the world with my best friend's aspect of my life. But simply being here with Harry, happy and healthy. Being out of my childhood home, out from under my father's thumb, so far away and untouchable to him now.
I never thought I would be happy and safe. I yearned for this feeling of comfort and content ever since I was a little girl. And it feels better than what I would have ever thought.
The doorbell sounding brought me out of my thoughts, Harry gently disconnecting himself from me before standing up, his hot coco forgotten on the coffee table. Once he was up he skipped away to the front door singing, "The Chinese food is hereee," on the way. I laughed at him, getting the coffee table ready to eat our dinner. I brought our hot coco cups to the kitchen, grabbing juice for us instead and bringing it to the table.
This has become a tradition for Harry and I, we relax all day and then we order Chinese food and watch a Christmas movie while opening presents. We started this tradition ever since the x factor days. Partly because his schedule is so busy he usually only has one day free, and we never know if we're going to be with his family day of, plus he's typically exhausted from everything going on his life, and now that I'm working and traveling alongside him, we both just prefer to relax on our one day off.
Harry returned with the bag of food, as usual, we ordered way too much. We got settled on the floor again, spacing all the food out on the table and switching the music over to a movie.
"We watch that every year!" I groaned leaning back against the couch, chopsticks in hand.
"Because it's a classic!" Harry protested, trying to hit play on the remote but I smacked it out of his hand. "Hey!" He looked at me with shock as I climbed over his lap, reaching for the remote a few feet away.
I successfully grabbed the remote, leaning back up and changing it to my movie of choice. Harry glaring at me and trying to reach for the remote in my hand. I pulled my arm in the opposite direction, making it just out of his reach.
"There, a classic from this century."
"Elf?!"
"It's better than A Christmas Story!"
"Not true, at all." I ignored him, taking a bite of my egg roll and readjusting the blanket on my lap. I hid the remote behind me, underneath the couch and out of his reach. I looked to him with a smile before reaching over and grabbing a takeout container. He rolled his eyes at me, and I responded by kissing his cheek, both of us staying silent and watching the movie while we ate dinner.
