Alice Pov:

My parents took me to Singapore, a decision that ripped a hole in my heart. Even though I knew Risa no longer loved me, the distance felt unbearable. It was a constant ache, a reminder of the love I still held for her, a love that seemed to exist only in my own heart.

I knew she had betrayed me, time and time again, but my love for her remained undying. She was the only woman who had ever made me feel truly alive, the only one who had ever made my heart race. But she had chosen Leni, her classmate, over me. She had broken my heart, shattering the foundation of our love.

The pain of her betrayal was compounded by the relentless advance of my illness. Diagnosed with brain cancer, I kept my condition a secret from Risa, fearing the pain it would cause her. But she had chosen Leni, leaving me to face my fate alone. The disease worsened, forcing my parents to take me to Singapore for treatment.

We had been together for five months, a whirlwind of shared dreams and stolen kisses. I remember walking hand-in-hand down a bustling street, her eyes locking onto mine, filled with an intensity that sent shivers down my spine.

"Love why " I asked, her voice a gentle whisper.

"You're so beautiful, alam mo You're the only woman in my life," she whispered back, her words a balm to my soul, a promise of forever.

But those words, once a source of comfort, now felt like a cruel mockery of the reality that had unfolded. The woman who had sworn to love only me had chosen another, leaving me to navigate the treacherous path of my illness alone.

Now, at 32, I'm finally cancer-free. The surgery I underwent ten years ago left me with a touch of amnesia, a hazy fog obscuring some of my past.

"Alice are you sure gusto mong bumalik Sa pinas" Ate Zhang asked, her voice laced with concern.

"Absolutely, I want , And I want to run for Governor of Tarlac. I'm sure I can win, right?" I said, a glimmer of ambition in my eyes. It had been a dream of mine since junior high, and it still burned brightly within me.

"I don't know, but good luck. When's your flight?" she asked.

"Maybe tomorrow. I'll book it later today," I replied.

" Sama Ako" Ate Zhang asked, her eyes filled with curiosity. I nodded, a smile spreading across my face.

The next day, Ate Zhang and I boarded a flight to the Philippines. As soon as I stepped onto the tarmac, the familiar scent of home washed over me, a wave of nostalgia.

"Ate, Ang Ganda I miss this," I said, gesturing towards the airport, a sense of longing in my voice.

"You miss this, huh? Do you remember anything, even a little?" she asked, her eyes searching mine.

"Just a few things," I replied, my voice barely above a whisper.

We drove to our family farm in Bamban, Tarlac, and settled in for a much-needed rest. The following days, I learned that my arrival was perfectly timed. The elections were just two days away, and I was determined to run for Governor. I reached out to the former Governor of Tarlac, and to my surprise, he was on board with my candidacy. With no other candidates running, I was elected as the first female Governor of Tarlac. I was proud of myself, my childhood dream finally realized.

Five years later, I'm now the head of Tarlac, fulfilling my responsibilities with unwavering dedication. My constituents trust and respect me, and I strive to serve them with integrity. My business ventures have flourished, taking me to various places, expanding my horizons.
