Chapter 16 - your turn

Alice Pov:

"Aray pooooo..." I winced, rolling my eyes at Mayor Dong who was meticulously tending to my wound. "Ingay mo naman" he quipped, his tone laced with amusement.

"Hmm," I grunted, trying to hide my discomfort.

"bakit Ako pa tinawagan mo andon Naman Sila Shiella ? " he asked, his teasing tone masking a genuine concern.

"Well, Ate Shiella is busy po" I explained, feeling slightly embarrassed.

"Siguro mahal mo na Rin Ako noh? " he teased, a playful glint in his eye.

"Stop it," I retorted, pushing his hand away with a playful swat.

I was perched on the hospital bed, feeling rather vulnerable with Mayor Dong fussing over my wound. The arrival of Dr. Guevara interrupted our little scene.

"Ah, Doctor," I greeted him, feeling a wave of relief.

"Ms. Governor, what happened to you? dumudugo yang noo mo" Dr. Guevara inquired, his expression concerned.

"namali lang po Ng Pagmamaneho " I confessed, my voice tinged with regret. "I should have been more careful."

"You should have been more careful," he echoed, his tone firm. "By the way, just wait here. I'll grab some supplies for your wound." He turned and left, leaving me alone with Mayor Dong.

Dr. Guevara returned, his arms laden with medical supplies. He began to clean my wound, and a sharp pain shot through my forehead.

"Ow, ouch!..." I yelped, wincing at the sting.

"Just hold still, Ms. Alice,konting pasensya lang po" he said gently, his voice a calming presence.

He finished cleaning my wound and applied a protective covering. As he was handing me my medication, a searing pain shot through my right hand.

"Ouch!...Po Yung daliri ko" I cried out, clutching my hand.

"What is it, Ms. Alice?" he asked, concern etched on his face.

"nabalitaan Po yata ako" I said, my voice trembling with pain.

"We need to get an X-ray." he said

He examined my finger, his brow furrowed with concern. " It looks like a fracture Let's head to the laboratory po"

We went to the laboratory, and he expertly took an X-ray. The results confirmed my fears; my finger was fractured.

"There you have it, Ms. Alice," he said, his tone somber.

"It's a fracture. We'll put a brace on it. If it doesn't heal in ten days, we'll have to consider surgery."

"ayan Kase Dapat mag ingat Ka!! " Mayor Dong scolded me, his voice heavy with frustration.

"Are you yelling at me?" I shot back, rolling my eyes at his theatrics.

"Hindi Naman Sa ganon" he said, attempting to soften his tone. "I just want you to be safe. Look at what happened! You've got a broken finger and your car is still stuck on a pole."

I sighed dramatically, my frustration bubbling to the surface. "I know, Nga!" I muttered, feeling defeated.

"I'll arrange to have your car towed tomorrow," Mayor Dong said, his tone softer now. "I'll take it to a reliable garage."
