At that moment, Principal Mr. Lyer's voice came over the intercom, echoing through the hallways.

"Attention students and faculty, I am pleased to announce that we will be taking a month-long vacation, starting from today. You have all worked hard and deserve a break."

Samridhi's eyes lit up as she turned to Siddharth, who was sitting next to her in class.

"Yes! A break is just what I needed."

Siddharth grinned. "Me too. I'm looking forward to relaxing and recharging."

Samridhi nodded in agreement. "Me too. I think I'm going to head home for the month, spend some time with my family."

Siddharth's face fell slightly, but he nodded understandingly. "That sounds great. You deserve it. We'll catch up when you get back?"

Samridhi smiled and nodded. "Definitely. I'll miss you guys."

After the assembly, Samriddhi headed back to her dormitory, where Lily was waiting with a big smile.

"Time to pack, Princess! We're going to the castle for the holidays!"

Samriddhi grinned, feeling a sense of adventure.

"I can't wait to see my parents and explore the castle!"

Next morning, with Lily's help, Samriddhi packed her bags. She helped Samriddhi get ready. Samriddhi stood patiently as Lily styled her long, dark brown hair into an elegant updo, adorned with a delicate silver clip. Her bright, expressive brown eyes sparkled as she put on a beautiful emerald green gown, intricately embroidered with golden threads. The gown complemented her smooth, porcelain-like complexion and slender yet athletic build.

With a gentle touch, Lily helped Samriddhi into her shoes, delicate silver slippers that shone in the morning light. Samriddhi's heart-shaped face glowed with a warm smile as she thanked Lily.

"Today's the day, Princess!" Lily said, beaming. "You look stunning!"

As she walked down to the entrance of the academy, she saw Amrita and Rohan waiting for her. Amrita smiled and curtsied, while Rohan bowed his head in respect.

"Good morning, Princess," Amrita said.

"We're ready to accompany you to the castle."

Samriddhi smiled, feeling grateful for their loyalty and companionship.

"Let's go," she said, leading the way out of the academy.

They set off towards the castle, accompanied by Amrita and Rohan.

As they journeyed, Samriddhi gazed out the window, taking in the scenic views. But as they turned a corner, she noticed a stark contrast. A once-thriving village was now desolate and dead, with withered crops and empty homes.

Samriddhi's heart sank.

"Amrita, what happened here?"

Samriddhi asked, her voice laced with concern. "This wasn't like this earlier, was it?"

Amrita hesitated, "I'm not sure what happened, Princess. But this area was once a thriving hub of life. I can investigate further."

Samriddhi's expression turned firm.
