Without a word, they retreated deeper into the shadows, eager to remain undetected. Their minds racing, they pieced together the fragments of information.

"I knew, Shiva's connected to Kingdom of Dragon," Siddharth whispered.

Lily's eyes widened. "And that symbol on Ryo's shoulder... It's the Dragon's emblem."

Samriddhi's jaw clenched. "We can't trust Shiva. He's been playing us."

As Ryo descended from the branch, landing softly on the forest floor. He sank to his knees, head bowed in reverence.

"I collected all details you asked, My Prince," Ryo said.

Shiva's expression remained impassive. "Rise, Ryo. Report."

Ryo stood, his movements fluid. "East Kingdom's nobles are unaware of our involvement. They suspect internal betrayal, but nothing concrete."

Shiva nodded. "And the ultimatum from North Kingdom?"

"Delivered, My Prince. East Kingdom has three days to respond."

Shiva's eyes narrowed. "Samriddhi, Siddharth, and Lily. What's their stance?"

Ryo hesitated. "They're cautious, My Prince. Suspicious of each other, but no open conflict."

Shiva's gaze turned piercing. "And their loyalty to East Kingdom?"

Ryo's voice dropped. "Tenuous, at best. Samriddhi's determination to uncover truth may lead her to our doorstep."

Shiva's jaw clenched. "Ensure she doesn't. Our plan relies on her ignorance."

Ryo nodded. "I've planted seeds of distrust among the trio. They'll focus on each other, not our involvement."

Shiva's eyes gleamed in approval. "Well done, Ryo. Your loyalty will be rewarded."

Ryo bowed his head. "Thank you, My Prince."

Shiva paused, collecting his thoughts. "Inform our allies in North Kingdom to prepare for war. East Kingdom will crumble soon."

Ryo's expression turned grim. "As you command, My Prince."

Samriddhi's eyes met Siddharth's, her voice barely audible. "I never expected Shiva to be the Prince of Kingdom of Dragon."

Siddharth's face darkened. "Deception at its finest."

Lily's gaze flicked between them. "We must be cautious."

Without another word, they slipped back to the cottage, ensuring they arrived before Shiva.

Inside, they feigned sleep, their minds racing.

Shiva returned, his footsteps soft.

As he settled into his bedroll, Samriddhi watched him through slitted eyes.

Their plan to uncover the truth had taken a perilous turn.
