As after sometime they all were seated for Dinner .
The table was laden with an array of delicious food, the smell of spices filling the air. Rocky sat at the head of the table, Mishthi and Rohan on one side, Aaria on the other. The atmosphere was light, filled with conversation.
As spoke while chewing slowly “So how was your life in Mumbai???”
Mishthi took a sip from her glass before responding.!
“It's been good. I’ve settled into a routine, and I’ve made some great friends there too.”
Rohan chimed in, a hint of dryness in his voice.
“And by ‘routine’, she means causing trouble.”
Mishthi huffed, rolling her eyes at him. “I do not! I’m a perfectly well-behaved young lady, also if you have this much problems with me then why did you married me!”
Rohan chuckled, reaching over to pat her hand. “Oh, I married you because I’m a fool in love with you.”
Mishthi blushed at his words, trying to look annoyed but failing.
Aaira chuckled at their exchange, a fond smile creeping onto her face. “You two are cute together.”
Just then something came Rocky's mind and a sly smirk appeared on his face.
“by the way, when are you two going to bless me and Aaira with an niece or nephew, huh? Can't wait much longer.”
Mishthi’s eyes widened, her cheeks flaming red. Rohan looked taken back but then recovered with a slight cough.
“Whoa, whoa, slow down, bhai.... We just got married a few months ago.”
Rocky chuckled, raising an eyebrow at them. “And? Time's ticking, you know. I have to be an uncle soon.”
Mishthi and Rohan exchanged quick glances, clearly flustered by his question.
Rohan cleared his throat, trying to sound casual.
“Uh, yeah...umm apart from this coming to Searious point we heard from Khasim Chacha...what happened in Dubai and how you two got married.”
Rocky's expression turned serious at the question. He took a deep breath, knowing that he couldn't keep stalling anymore. He glanced at Aaria, his gaze fleeting, before turning back to Rohan and Mishthi.
“Yeah, that...it’s a long story...”
Rohan and Mishthi looked at him expectantly, their eyes filled with curiosity. They knew Rocky well enough to know that whatever had happened in Dubai had been serious.
Rocky sighed again, rubbing a hand over his face. He knew he had to tell them the truth, but it wasn’t an easy thing to Say.
“Look, the situation in Dubai wasn't as straightforward as it seemed. There was a threat to Aaria’s life.”
Mishthi's eyes widened, her face filled with concern. Rohan’s brow furrowed.
“A threat? What do you mean?”
Rocky took another deep breath, steeling himself for their reaction.
“Someone was after Aaria’s happiness. I couldn't let that happen, so I did the only thing I could think of at the moment...I married her.”
Rohan and Mishthi exchanged incredulous looks, their eyes flicking between Aaria and Rocky. Mishthi spoke first, his voice measured.
“You married her...Are you both okay?”
Rocky hesitated for a moment, his gaze briefly landing on Aaria. She met his gaze, a mix of emotions in her eyes surprise, uncertainty, and something else that he couldn't quite place.
“It's complicated...”
Rohan raised an eyebrow, his tone slightly sharp.
“Complicated? Marriage is a serious matter, Bhai Now since you are tied in it you better take care of her she’s like a sister to me just the way.."
He Looked down rakhi tied on his wrist "Reena was...”
The mention of Reena’s name hit Rocky like a punch to the gut. A wave of pain and grief washed over him, but he pushed it aside, his jaw clenching.
“I know and I took my oath seriously.”
Mishthi looked at Rocky, worry in her eyes. She knew the toll of Reena’s death had taken on him, and the mention must have hit hard but she also knew Aaira is the only who can heal this wound.
As there was an Awkward Silence as Aaira stood up speaking.
“I... l'll go and get the dessert.”
Rocky's eyes lingered on her as she got up and disappeared into the kitchen, the silence in the room hanging heavily.
At night Aaira changed into her comfortable clothes as she sat on bed in Deep thinking.
Her mind was reeling from the events of the daythe conversation over dinner, the way Rocky's eyes had followed her when she left the room, his words, his presence...She hadn't been able to eat much, her stomach churning with a mixture of emotions she couldn't quite decipher.
She let out a shaky breath, trying to make sense of the conflicting feelings inside her. She couldn't forget the way her heart had skipped a beat when he said he had married her out of protection...
She knew she should be feeling trapped, frustrated, and angry about being forced into a marriage, But somehow she couldn't bring herself to feel those things..
Instead, a flutter of excitement, a spark of something warm and unfamiliar flared within her at the thought of being his wife.
She shook her head, trying to clear her thoughts. It was ridiculous, she told herself. He had married her out of necessity, not love. There was no way they could have a real marriage.
