"So are you ready" Cassiel asks, while bending his elbow, to allow us to link arms. I smile, and nod my head, scared that if I say anything the tears may begin to flow.
"I know it seems crazy, but he's helped me so much I don't think he even realises" My voice cracks, as I place my hand in his arm. I swipe the front of my dress before taking a deep breath in.
"I'm really happy for you, you of all people deserve it" I smile as my eyes beginning to water, and I bring my other hand up to gently blot my eyes, he kisses the top of my forehead.
"Don't make me cry Cassiel" I say, before taking another deep breath as two ladies open the doors.
The piano rendition of Until I found you by Stephen Sanchez, spills out of the room, Cassiel and I take a step forward slowly, as we walk down the makeshift aisle. My eyes instantly gravitate to Gabriel's and my heart quickens. I continue to walk down the aisle, I admire his dark green almost black suit, that bring out the depths of his eyes, a simple black tie, paired with a buttonhole matching my bouquet. Both of our eyes remain on each other, until the song comes to and end and Cassiel, is kissing my cheek and passing me onto Gabriel.
"You look stunning" Gabriel says, as I pass my bouquet over to Melanie, and take his hands in mine.
"And you look incredibly handsome" I reply back, squeezing his hands slightly, as Cassiel and Melanie take their seats.
"We are gathered here today to witness the sacred union of Evangeline Walters and Gabriel Solace" an older women to my left says.
We smile, our hands in each others, as the officiant proceeds with the ceremony, until we're due to take our vows.
"For a couple of years, I believe I've been walking around with half a heart, waiting to feel complete love and happiness again, it wasn't until I met you, that I started feel it again, and while we've only known each other for a short amount of time, I believe my heart and soul has loved you since the beginning of time, waiting until this very moment to reunite. You have shown me how to put the broken pieces of myself back together, and have taught me that I am deserving of your love and so much more. I look forward to falling in love with you each more everyday, and can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you"
At this point my tears are running down my face, as Melanie discreetly passes me a tissue, but it's useless as my tears soak through the paper..
"How can I top that" My voice cracks, as everyone starts laughing, including the officiant.
"Oh, god, I can't even stop crying." I take a deep breath, before continuing.
"Gabriel, You once said that you wanted me to teach you things, to teach you how to be a better person, to take control of the narrative in your life but I think its the opposite, you've taught me how to feel again, to put my trust in someone again and most of all you've taught me to love myself again, and you continue to teach me things everyday. I love the person I am when you're around me, and I can't wait to grow even more in your presence" The tears flow from my eyes, as I bare my feelings, I glance at Cassiel and Melanie who's are also wiping tears, alongside Gabriel, I lift one my hands and wipe the lone tear from his cheek. We bask in the brief silence of our vows before continuing, till the very last part of exchanging our wedding bands.
