It was night time, and her friend from work dragged her out to a club. Laurel was at the bar when Tommy and Oliver walked up to her.
"Oh, wow! Doesn't you going out and having fun violate some kind of law, you know, like the ones that are carved on a stone tablet?" Tommy asked her and she nodded sarcastically.
"That's cute, Tommy."
"Thanks."
"I can see you two are up to your old hunting patterns." She said, turning to Oliver.
"Just seeing what passes for fun in Starling City after five years."
"Ah. Well, I'm sure you'll find that it just hasn't been the same without you." She said and out of nowhere Thea came running over, and threw her arms around Oliver.
"Big brother! Oh! I am so wasted right now. There is... there is two of you." She told him, giggling so much that Oliver was speechless for a minute.
"I thought you were grounded." He finally choked out.
"I am. And thank you... thank you for that, by the way." She said as Tommy passed Laurel a shot, which she took.
"You're done for the night."
"Oh, what are you going to do? Tell mom?"
"Thea! You are hanging with the wrong people."
"You're one to talk." Thea told him.
"Thea, let's go." Oliver told her, grabbing her arm to pull her out of the club.
"Take your hands off of me. You're not my father. And you're barely my brother." Thea said before storming away as Oliver looked on, her words having got to him. Till a voice was heard behind him.
"Well... look at this. Oliver Queen."
"Max Fuller. How you been?" Oliver said, forcing a smile.
"Happy you drowned." He said, and the smile left Oliver's face as he was grabbed by security and pulled into a back room as Tommy and Laurel followed them.
"Hey, Max..." Oliver started, only to be punched in the face.
"Get him up!"
"Hey, let him go, let him go! Hey, I said let him go!" Tommy yelled, getting between Oliver and the bigger guys.
"Told you he was going to be pissed." Oliver told Tommy.
"Back off, Merlyn. This isn't your problem." Max told the man.
"You want to get to him? You've got to go through me. Wow, they are probably going to get through me." Tommy said just as a fight broke out, in the end Tommy and Oliver ended up on the ground, and Laurel rolled her eyes before reaching over and grabbing Max and grabbing him by the back of his neck punching each of his rib cages, hard, kicking the back of his knee and then flipping him around and onto the ground, causing everyone to turn to them.
"So is this over, Max? Or are you going to have your boys pound on me next?" Laurel asked the man with narrowed, angry eyes.
"You three consider yourselves banned for life. Get the hell out of my place!" Max yelled at them.
"Your club sucks anyway." Tommy yelled after him.
"You guys okay?" Laurel asked them.
"Where'd you learn to do that?" Oliver asked instead.
"After you left I took... self defense classes. If that's what you call them. Still do every Saturday." She told them with a shrug, glancing at Tommy, knowing it was his dad who taught her, but both of them were clueless to that part of it. She shrugged and then turned and left.
