Summer Desires

Chapter Three

When I walked out of the back room and I saw Alex and Carson standing by one another, I felt a lump grow in my throat. The room started to tunnel and I could feel my face lose color. This is not how my camping trip was supposed to go. Did Bec know? Is that why she's been acting weird? Like what is actually going on.

"Hey T, long time no see right?" Carson asked in a narcissistic way.

"Why are you here Carson? Who even invited you?" I asked in a snippy tone.

"I did." Jason said, looking down at the ground.

"Why Jason? Did you realize Carson and I are done correctly?" I said in a disappointed response.

"Seriously Jason, you always know how to ruin everything don't you?" Bec said quickly.

Alex steps towards me and says, "Want to go on a store run with me?"

"Yes please!" I said while walking back to the room.

What was Jason thinking? How could he have thought this was even a good idea? Carson is like a virus no one can get rid of. Once he plants his seeds, he's impossible to get rid of. I grab my bag and start digging through my clothes and find the PERFECT outfit. If Jason and Carson think they can get under my skin by having him here, I can make his life worse by looking my best and showing him no attention at all. I slip on my booty shorts, my bright orange tube top, and my cowgirl boots. This top is my favorite because it goes so well with my golden skin during the summer. I then double dutch braid my hair and throw on some simple jewelry, along with some light natural looking makeup. I put my going out perfume on and grab my wallet and phone. I open the curtain and Alex locks eyes with me.

"Are you ready?" I asked Alex with a smile.

"Absolutely." He smirked.

"T, can we talk when you get back?" Carson asked with fake puppy dog eyes.

"We will see if I get back at a decent time." I said while grabbing Alex's hand and walking out the camper.

Alex walks me over to his pickup truck and opens my door. I look back and I can see Jason standing outside of the camper with the look of regret on his face. Should I go talk to him before we leave? I am pretty pissed at him, but he seems to be going through something right now.

"Can you wait right here for just a second?" I asked Alex while brushing his arm.

"Of course." He said while patting my side.

"Hey Jason!" I said walking over to him.

"Look T, I am sorry. I didn't think this through completely." He said with sadness in his eyes.

"Jason, it's fine. Carson and I just have so much history and I truthfully just could care less if I don't see him before I leave, ya know?" I said while patting him on the back.

"I am so stupid and should have thought of your feelings. I am so sorry Talia." He said while hugging me.

I ran back over to the truck and there stood Alex waiting for me. He helped me into the truck. He let me play music and we just vibed out while driving to the closest town over. I love it out here. The view could clear your mind in seconds. Nothing but nature surrounding you. While I am jamming out to my favorite song, Alex slid his hand on my thigh. Butterflies fluttered in my stomach and my cheeks became rosy red. There is so much more to Alex that meets the eye. He has so much more to his story behind those eyes.

"So what do we need to get from the store, macho man?" I asked him with a smirk.

"Oh macho man huh?" He replied with a grin.
