Note: Takemichi has stayed in the past and starting here it will be a year later. I'll let you know throughout the story if they age up again. There will start to be some mature content so I thought they should be a little older than the original story and Mikey is starting to become a little more mature and serious as he is aging up since he has a lot on his shoulders now and his relationship with Ayame is becoming more serious. Here are some of the main characters new ages but hope you enjoy! 😊

Mikey: 17

Ayame: 16

Draken: 17

Emma:16

Kisaki: 15

Chifuyu: 14

Takemichi:14

Past:

Chifuyu's breath formed clouds in the frigid air as he paused at the crest of the hill, his gaze anchored on the solitary figure kneeling beside the granite headstone, Ayame. Baji's grave was a stark reminder of what they had lost, and the ache in Chifuyu's chest tightened its grip. The old white sash, once worn proudly by Baji, felt heavy in his trembling hands.

He descended the slope, the snow compressing under his boots.

Each step was a reminder of the weight he carried, not just in his heart but also in his hand—the white sash that Baji once wore with pride. It was more than fabric; it was a legacy, a memory woven into each thread.

As Chifuyu approached the cemetery, the somber rows of gravestones stood like silent sentinels to sorrow. And there, amidst the monochrome landscape, was Ayame—her raven hair a stark contrast against the soft blanket of snow, her figure ethereal and delicate. Snowflakes kissed her cheeks, adorning her with nature's fleeting jewels, and for a moment, Chifuyu could only stare in awe. The pain of loss etched on her face mirrored his own, a shared grief that seemed to draw them together even as it tore them apart.

Ayame lifted her head, and upon seeing him, her eyes widened—a mirror to their shared sorrow.

"Chifuyu," Ayame's voice broke through the hush, laced with surprise and a tremor of tears. She turned towards him, her eyes a testament to the sorrow they both felt, yet shining with a strength that Baji himself would have admired.

"Hey," Chifuyu said, his voice barely above a murmur, as he came to stand before her.

With reverence, Chifuyu closed the distance between them, the sash clutched in his hand a bridge from past to future. He bowed deeply before her, an offering and a promise entwined in one gesture. "This... this was Baji's," he said, his voice barely above a whisper as he held out the sash to her. "I entrust it to you now, as the new 1st division captain."

Ayame's gaze locked onto the symbol of leadership, and when she lifted her eyes again, they shimmered with unshed tears.

"I... I don't know what to say," she managed, voice quavering.

"I know you took some time to heal, and I've stepped in for you so you can do just that but now, it's your turn. Just say you'll lead us with the same fire he had." Chifuyu straightened up, his eyes burning with a loyalty that death could not diminish. "I'll be there, every step of the way always by your side. Protecting you, following you, loyal to you —even beyond death, just like I was to him. I am proud you are taking over Baji's position. You have my vote, always."

Ayame's hands shook as she reached out to accept the sash, her fingers brushing against his. Accepting it felt like accepting a mantle much heavier than the cloth itself. "I don't know if I can—"
