She was such an idiot. Unbelievable. She should have knocked at least. Just because the shower had turned off didn't mean he was clothed too. Simi muttered as she put on her dress. She had already done her hair the way the stylist had told her, she hoped she had done it correctly. It was an untidy bun at the base of her neck. It was 'in', at least that was what she was told. The stylist had first trimmed and then given layers to her hair especially the front of her face. Then straightened the tresses giving them a sharp look. The layers that farmed her face were supposed to be left like that. She even had bangs on her forehead to soften the sharpness of those layers. Next she had applied make up. Just because she didn't apply it as often didn't mean she didn't have it. She had applied kohl to her eyes and a black eye liner. With a golden beige eye shadow. Of course the blush and then the ruby red lipstick she had bought with Preet. It was the only bold color she owned. Preet had insisted she bought it as it suited her. She hadn't been sure then, she wasn't sure now. But since she had decided to go all out, no holds barred she had worn it.

She hoped she didn't look anything out of a gothic novel. The shade was red not black but still. Next she had worn her antique silver necklace with pearls, American diamonds and dangling rubies. That was enough accessory. And luckily it all matched her red dress. It was a square neck lace evening gown. A little long because she wasn't as tall but with her silver sandals it was perfect. There was no embellishments on the dress. It was plain and simple just the way she liked it. With a red lace stole she could take over her shoulders.

She stood before the mirror and stared at her reflection. She couldn't believe it was her. She looked so different. So amazing. She had never considered herself beautiful but she wanted to revise that opinion tonight. She had never thought she could look good in such a bold color, as she had always surrounded herself with beiges and browns and blacks. Apparently she was wrong. And she suddenly wanted to try more colors. Greens and blues, rusts and pinks. Yay. She smiled even as tears formed in her eyes. She was happy. So happy. She felt she was on cloud nine.

What would Neil think? Would he like how she looked? For some strange reason she knew he would. The kind of personality he had he would like someone who looked like Miss Simi Sardana tonight. She had seen the red tie he was wearing. He had looked so smart in that suit of his when he had finally emerged from the room.

She had of course been embarrassed. She had caught him in a towel. Oh man. And then she hadn't even apologized properly. It wasn't her fault. He had no right to look so delicious. His lean hard body above that towel had rendered her speechless. It wasn't as if she hadn't seen shirtless men before. But she had never been attracted to any of them. She hadn't been able to get his image out of her head. And she had been so nervous. She had forgotten her phone outside, so she had to go get it. Next she had forgotten the packet in which she had gotten his gift. So she had to go get that too before he saw it. As if that wasn't enough she had wanted to drink water but the bottle in the room was empty so she had to venture out again to get it. She had been aware of him every single time. Aware of what lay beneath that shirt. And the man had been amused.

She had sensed it since she hadn't found the courage to look him in the eye. Then his strong fragrance had filled her senses when she had gone to the bathroom to take a shower. There was just so much she could take. So she had muttered and muttered when she had applied her makeup and done her hair. And now as she viewed herself she realized she was still nervous. Nervous of his reaction. What he would say.

But she couldn't hide here looking so good. She had a ball to attend with a very handsome man who was all ready and waiting outside. She took in a deep breath. And as she went to the doors to open it she felt a strange excitement as well. Calming her racing heart she held her head high and opened the door.
