Chapter 6: You Make Me Feel So Young

"So where are you taking me, Y/n?" Hanni said as she giggled.

"Well, we only got a few hours. But I want to keep it as a surprise. I hope you're fine with that." Y/n replied as he drove off.

"So, how are your parents doing in Berlin?" Hanni asked, starting a conversation.

"Well, they're doing well there. Liz and Dahyun-noona are actually gonna go back here tomorrow while my parents are gonna take a tour around Europe. How I'd love to go to Europe on a whim... But we'll make do with the Land of the Morning Calm." Y/n said as they were stopped by traffic.

"Traffic's gonna get us delayed, no?" Hanni asked.

Y/n sighed in defeat, "It's fine... It's not like the movement is dead. Besides, I'm actually looking forward to this trip."

"Oh, you like taking me out? That's a brave thing to say considering this is all an act." Hanni chuckled.

"Well, it's been a few years since the last time I went to the place we're going. That's why I'm yearning for that nostalgia." Y/n replied.

Hanni now formed a train of thought, Y/n hates going to places, yet he went here before and is actually looking forward to it. Only a few things went to Hanni's mind. Her thoughts were just Y/n bringing her to a tech convention, or his favorite fast food place like he did on their first date. Y/n was never the lover boy when they were together, he was a nerd first and a boyfriend second.

"Are you taking me to a technology convention again?" Hanni scoffed.

"Sheesh, you're still pressing me about that..." Y/n groaned.

"Of course I will! It was our first date! Imagine bringing your beautiful girlfriend to a tech convention. Oy vey, Y/n..." Hanni said as she laughed and ridiculed Y/n by exaggerating her voice.

After a half an hour drive, they arrived at the outskirts of the city. And looking at where Y/n was driving, Hanni already knew where Y/n was heading. He was heading to the flower fields where he took her for their 1st anniversary. A few minutes later, Y/n parked the car and the two went to the flower fields. The scenery didn't change at all. It was still like in their college years.

Hanni loves flowers, the design, the science, the poetry, the symbolisms behind them. She loves it, even people of science tend to nature from time to time. The times she spent looking on research paper and blackboard, the times she accidentally inhaled chalk dust, all those moments that give her stress of being on that side of her world, all gone because of the blooming flowers.wers saying to Hanni that all the hardships will bloom into the treasures of tomorrow.

It's been a minute since Hanni zoned out, with Y/n already smiling at the sight of Hanni, yet he also doesn't know that the smile on his face was visible.

Hanni looked at Y/n, "Hey, what are you doing staring at me?" Hanni said as Y/n shook his head by impulse, being caught by Hanni.

"Well, it's not like you weren't staring out of nowhere. Come with me, let's look at them closer. I also need to document this for my father." Y/n said as Hanni ran to him. The two entered the flower fields together, hand-in-hand for God knows what reason.

The flowers were now on arm's reach. Hanni took pictures of the beautiful flowers, the cherry blossoms, the roses, the lilacs, it accentuated the beauty of the girl in front of Y/n. It was as if their first time here felt like yesterday.
