The inevitable day struck the calendar as today, today is the burial of one of the most powerful people in South Korea. A big crowd flocked the walls of one of the most prestigious cemeteries in Seoul. A crowd of paparazzi, albeit with many kinds of intentions and different publications. Some were there for Liz, some were there for Y/n, heck, some were even there for Dahyun with her scientific works getting more traction.
"I hate this! Why are there so many people?! Don't they know how to respect the dead?" Y/n groaned as his mom patted his shoulder, understanding the frustration taking over Y/n but she decided to stay calm.
"Careful, Y/n. You might run some of them over. I get it, we're in a public cemetery. And we must respect your father's wishes." His mom said as he sighed in defeat, maneuvering their car, trying to avoid all the people that flocked them.
"Why even here? Doesn't dad hate the feeling of public cemeteries? We could've had his rest somewhere more private." Y/n complained.
"Well, if you somehow didn't remember, this is where your grandparents are buried. Your dad wanted to be buried with them. So, please, stop complaining, he'll haunt you if you continue." His mom joked as Y/n rolled his eyes.
"Oh, my God! If I knew it was gonna be this bad, I would've hired more security. This is a mess..." Y/n said as he, his mother, and his car broke free from the wall of people and got inside the cemetery walls.
The two parked their car near the entrance and as they exited, people started flooding the mother and son duo.
Camera flashes blinded the two as Y/n went immediately to his mom on the other side. Holding her hand as he guided her to the poorly kept entrance of the cemetery. Y/n pushed, pulled, slapped some cameras, even breaking the lenses of some, up until they could reach the cemetery walls which were already guarded by the family's security.
The only thing making contact with them now was the light rain that was going on ever since the day began. Y/n opened his umbrella and he gave his mom some cover, "I swear, I wanted to smack them with this."
His mom chuckled, "I know you wanted to. To be fair, your father would've done that as well. Anyways, let's go. Your sisters are already waiting for us."
The two walked on the muddy terrain, the only solid footing being the small rock steps as the grass and mud were too soft and was too risky for people walking. As Y/n walked by, he saw the tombs and gravestones of the people that went before him. Some were old, some were the same age as him, and some? The date of birth and death were the same day... It was eerie, it was unsettling, the tombs all close to each other, as if not leaving space for the living to walk around them.
"How are you feeling, Y/n? You always hated going here when you were younger." His mom asked as he rolled his eyes.
"I said what I said, this cemetery still gives me the creeps. We can barely walk around this place." Y/n rambled as the two continued walking until they saw the sight of the two daughters of the Kim family.
"Just in time, mom, Y/n." Dahyun said as the two smiled at her.
"Well, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for Y/n pushing away those people." His mom replied.
"Yeah, there's gonna be news articles about me being violent though. Pretty sure I broke some cameras. Telling you, those people were insufferable. Like the flashes were annoying enough, at least allow us to enter." Y/n sighed in defeat.
"Well, you better lighten your mood, I don't think dad would appreciate it if you were grumpy for the rest of his funeral." Liz said as Y/n looked left and right, seemingly not at rest, looking for a girl.
