Unfortunately, Lynn Loud would be a liar if she said she didn't enjoy her little outing with Marley. She learned some valuable information. Like Marley's ice cream order; strawberry with marshmallows. She also learned that Marley was basically a sugar addict, it's like she couldn't function without it. She suspected Marley was truly made of sugar, spice, and everything nice.

As the sun was setting, Lynn looked over at Marley on their walk back to the Loud's. She probably looked the most relaxed she had ever seen her; her brown, wavy hair cascading over her shoulders, lightly tousled from the gentle wind, and a smile graced on her face.

Lynn quickly snapped out of this. What was going on with her?

"What kind of music do you like?" This wasn't how Marley thought her evening would go. She was hoping for a short session consisting of what she was supposed to do, tutoring. But instead, she found herself asking the Loud girl questions, wanting to know her.

"I don't really listen to music" a lousy response, but Lynn was sure whatever music she listened to wasn't nearly as cool as Marley's music taste, she was a musician after all—they listen to good music, right?

"Everyone listens to music, Lynn" For some reason, the way Marley said Lynn's name made her sort of nervous. In this moment, she was sure the name Lynn had never been spoken so sweetly. At least, not with an intention so pure.

She knew now why everyone seemed to like Marley. She said every word with sincerity on her face, even to strangers. She was the person to ask you to continue what you were saying after being interrupted. She was the person to wait for you while you tied your shoes on the sidewalk.

"I won't judge you, I swear." then, Marley chuckled, "unless it's really bad, then I might make fun of you." mortifying Lynn.

"i'm joking." Marley let out another small laugh. This slightly reassured Lynn, but it was hard to act like Marley's smile didn't make her legs feel weaker.

"I like... The Neighborhood." Lynn said sheepishly, not sure of what Marley would say. But it's almost like her face grew brighter. Lynn was actually opening up, in contrast to her usual sarcastic remarks and stoic expressions.

Somehow, Lynn found the courage to ask her a follow-up question. "What's your favorite song?"

"Lorelai by The Fleet Foxes" Marley seemed to light up at the question. Lynn could tell Marley was passionate about music. Unlike the endless and boring conversations with her sister, Luna—that she tried her best to avoid—Lynn found herself actually interested in what Marley had to say. She was almost happy to hear her ramble about her favorite bands and the new songs she was learning on her guitar.
