billie sat down on the floor, setting darcy next to her. "here you go, honey," hayley said softly, handing billie the blocks and dinosaurs. billie looked up at hayley with a small smile before opening the containers. she poured the blocks onto the floor and started placing two blocks beside each other and placing one atop. "whatchu building?" hayley asked, sitting down next to billie, opposite of darcy. "houses!" billie grinned. "oh you making a town?" hayley inquired, copying billie's buildings. "um... yeah!" billie beamed. "can i build some stores?" hayley questioned.

"uh-huh!" billie nodded her head, opening the dinosaur filled tupperware container. she pulled out a triceratops and a tyrannosaurus rex. she laid the t-rex in hayley's lap, smiling innocently at her. "oh, thank you, sweet girl," hayley murmured. billie placed two blocks together, stacking two more on top. "is that an apartment building?" hayley asked, a big smiled on her lips. "yeah!" billie said. "i think we did a great job!" hayley smiled, looking at the town they'd built. billie let out a giggle as she placed her triceratops in the center of all the blocks. "raaaa!" she exclaimed. hayley set her dinosaur on the floor, scooting it closer to billie's. "roar!" she giggled.

billie crashed her dinosaur into the buildings, giggling maniacally. "my goodness!" hayley laughed. billie let out a growl as she jammed her dinosaur into hayley's. "he dead now." she laughed. "you have a triceratops and i have a t-rex..." hayley said. "is possible!" billie crossed her arms. "oh, yeah?" hayley raised an eyebrow. "yeah!" billie huffed. hayley pulled out her phone and unlocked it. billie watched as hayley typed something out. "you're right, a triceratops could kill a fully grown t-rex!" hayley gasped. "told you!" billie stuck her tongue out. "yeah, you did!" hayley cooed.

"i guess you're smarter than i thought," she joked, earning a shocked look from billie. her smile dropped when billie's eyes started glossing over. "i'm just messing with you, sweet girl," she purred, pulling billie into a hug. her heart broke a little when she felt billie's body shudder. "i didn't mean to make you cry," she hummed, rocking side to side as she rubbed billie's back. "you're not stupid, darling," she cooed, softly kissing billie's shoulder. "that was so mean of me, huh?" she murmured. "yeah..." billie nodded. "i'm such a meanie." hayley uttered. "pants." billie huffed. "oh, meanie pants, gotcha," hayley chuckled.

billie pulled her head out of hayley's neck and wiped her tears. "yeah, you're okay." hayley smiled, caressing billie's cheeks. "hayley, could i talk to you about something out there?" finneas asked. "uh, yeah, sure," hayley smiled. "i'll be right back, bug." she whispered, moving billie off her lap. she groaned as she got up from the floor. she followed finneas out of the room. "what's up with all the babying?" finneas inquired. "what?" hayley raised an eyebrow. "you were sat on the floor playing with blocks and dinosaurs together." he said. "that's not babying," hayley chuckled. "it's stimulating for her," she said pointedly.

"stacking the blocks and knocking them down is a great way to have sensory play," she explained. "and not that it's any of your business," she started. "i had a daughter who would've just turned ten, but she fucking died along with my fiancée nine years ago, and billie know about it," she started. "i play with her and baby her because i can't play with my baby girl!" she crossed her arms. "oh, i'm sorry." finneas mumbled. "what's with her being so childlike?" he questioned. "there's a thing called hipaa," hayley shrugged. "you gotta ask her yourself." she tilted her head. "she's just gonna tell me it's for you, isn't she?"

"something like that..." hayley sighed. "you better not be fucking mean to her, i mean that shit," she pointed a finger. "we're both coping in healthy ways." she growled. "i love billie, i'm not gonna be mean to her." finneas put his hands up, a little scared of the 5'2 woman in front of him. "guess we have two things in common now," hayley chuckled. "orange hair and love for billie," she smiled. "no, three, we also both like women." she nodded her head. "you love billie?" finneas furrowed his brows. "how could anyone not love her?" hayley asked. "she's so, so sweet and caring," she pouted.

"and not to pick favorites, but, um, she's my favorite client," she giggled. "she's so damn funny and our session aren't just feelings talk." she smiled. "really?" finneas hummed. "yeah, she actually can't just sit there and talk about her feelings for an hour," she laughed. "we often talk about whatever, we color, we play with little toys, we, well, she gossips," she chuckled. "and i really appreciate that 'cause talking about feelings gets really boring when it's all day every damn day." she groaned. "even sundays?" he asked. "unfortunately..." hayley nodded. "we all done chitchatting now?" she asked. "oh, right, yeah."

hayley walked back into the room, earning an excited giggle from billie. "yes, hi!" she cooed, sitting down next to billie. "hi..." billie said shyly, wrapping her arms around hayley. "woah, look at what you built!" hayley exclaimed. "you're so good at making cool buildings!" she cooed, rubbing billie's back. "thank you!" billie beamed. hayley pulled her phone out of her pocket and took a picture of what billie built. "haysie's turn!" billie sang. "yeah?" hayley smiled. "yeah!" billie dragged out. "you sure i can take it down?" hayley asked. "yeah, yeah, yeah!" billie enthusiastically nodded her head. hayley carefully started taking down billie's building.

"billie, why do you act so childish sometimes?" finneas asked. "what?" billie furrowed her brows. "when you play with hayley." he uttered. "um, i, um, i-i age regress sometimes," billie hesitated. "it's nothing inappropriate," she said. "it's a coping mechanism," she explained. "hayley actually recommended it," she smiled. "i act childish because my brain reverts back to kid ages." she elaborated, seeing the confused look on her brother's face. "so whenever you play you're like a kid?" finneas questioned. "i'm not always regressed when we play," billie hummed. "sometimes we do it for sensory play," she smiled. "which we do even if i'm big."

"big?" finneas raised an eyebrow. "not regressed," billie chuckled. "please don't tell anyone," she pleaded. "only you, hayley and drew know about it." she admitted. "i'm not gonna tell anyone." finneas said softly.
