8:30am

Ponyboy woke up alone, he looked over to see Soda's side of the bed empty but he could hear people in the house.

He saw the clock and gathered that the gang was probably all here for breakfast.

That reminded him that he was starving!

He was completely empty after being so sick the day before, however he had woken up feeling like his usual self, what a relief.

Pony got up out of bed and made his way into the kitchen where Two-Bit, Steve and even Dally were washing, drying and putting away the dishes.

Johnny and Darry were both in the living room.

Darry was reading the paper sipping on coffee whilst Johnny had his eyes glued to the TV.

Sodapop was no where to be seen but the shower could be heard running so it was safe to assume that's where he was.

No one seemed to take notice that Ponyboy was even there...until Steve turned around.

"Ahh! Get away from me, you leper!" Steve jumped behind Two-Bit and held the washing up brush like a sword facing Pony's direction.

"Good morning to you too, Steve. I'm feeling much better, thanks for asking." Pony sassed.

Two-Bit pushed Steve away, motioning for him to get back to the dishes.

"Glad to hear you're feeling better, kid." Two-Bit said, genuinely. "We were all worried about you-"

"I wasn't" Steve interrupted.

"And I didn't know you were sick." Dally chimed, putting away the dishes.

Two-Bit had to take a deep breath to not get agitated.

"Well me and Johnny were worried, weren't we Johnnycakes?"

Johnny nodded.

He didn't dare tell anyone but he was avoiding breathing, he really didn't want to get sick since his house isn't the place to be when you're under the weather.

So being in the house was giving him anxiety, but being here was the only way he would have gotten a substantial breakfast.

"You needn't worry, I'm fine." Ponyboy went and grabbed a glass from the cupboard and filled it to the brim with chocolate milk.

He raised it to his lips-

"- Uh uh uh, hold your horses there kid." Darry shot up and seized the glass from his brother's hands and poured the remains down the sink.

"Darry!" Ponyboy whined. "What was that for?"

Darry had a serious look on his face.

"I really don't think it's wise for you to have any dairy right now." Darry explained.

He grabbed a clean glass and filled it up with water from the sink, placing it in front of his brother.
