how to end a school year...

Something was definitely off.

Phersephone was behaving weirdly. The whole last week of school, when absolutely nothing happens anymore, she was acting strangely.

Since last Friday, the night of the ball, she had changed. She didn't talk as much, and seemed to be lost in thought the whole time. Phersephone had never really been a quiet girl, and her sudden change of behaviour worried me.

When I asked her, if everything was alright, she either said she was tired, or on her period, or simply not feeling the best. And that all could have made sense, but not over that many days...

I was planning on having a serious conversation alone with her in the Hogwarts express, on the way back to London. But it was like she knew what my plan was, and immediately navigated me into a train compartment where Blaise, Pansy, Theodore and Berkshire were already sitting.

With four other people around us, nobody really seemed to notice how quiet she was. She shared a few words with Pansy, and that was when she smiled for a few seconds. But for majority of time, she was just leaning on my side, looking out of the window wordlessly.

Both of her hands were holding one of mine. The whole train ride, she didn't let go of it. Something was definitely wrong. Phersephone wasn't usually this clingy and needy for contact.

For hours, she just said there, snuggled up against me like she was afraid I'd suddenly disappear, either sleeping or saying nothing more than necessary. The only time she had to let go of my hand was when the lady with the snacks showed up.

,,Chocolate frog?" I asked.

To my surprise, Phersephone shook her head.

Alright, now that was it! Phersephone Thorne never, ever said no to sweets, especially to chocolate, and especially chocolate frogs! This wasn't tiredness, or period, or not feeling well anymore. Something was massively wrong with my girlfriend!

But I didn't want to ask her, in front of everybody. So there was only one thing I could do in this situation...

,,And one more chocolate frog, please." I said to the snack lady, standing outside our compartment.

I hid it in my pocket, and when Phersephone went to the bathroom the next time, I quickly sneaked it into her suitcase. Whatever it was that she had, chocolate could only make it better.

After about eight hours on the train, we finally arrived at Kingscross. I was woken up by the loud noises of the train breaks and my friends moving and talking around us. Phersephone was still sleeping against my shoulder, and couldn't even be woken up by Pansy and Theodore fighting over who's suitcase had crushed Pansy's polaroid pictures.

,,Ah, at least that one survived." Pansy muttered, suddenly handing me one of the little photographs.

,,What the hell is that?" I frowned.

,,It's the most adorable picture I've ever taken." Pansy gave back, smiling widely.

I looked at the polaroid showing Phersephone and me, in which both of us were sleeping.

,,Look at you two!" she giggled. ,,All cuddled up and sleeping, completely wrapped up in each others arms! So cute."

Rolling my eyes, I stored the picture in my pocket, trying not wake Phersephone up by moving to much.

Pansy was right. That picture was adorable. Phersephone and I had been sleeping side by side for about three hours. Her head was leaning on top of mine, mine on her shoulder, arms wrapped around each other.
