Engines Of The Purge

Day 2(Duck's Pov).

Duck awoke the next morning, he hadn't slept outside much, but it felt oddly good to him, considering the situation.

"Driver, it's morning, wake up," Said the pannier.

"Duck, let us sleep a bit longer will you?" Said the sleepy driver.

"Driver we need to get these people to a safer place, a castle out in the open won't do, where lucky nobody found and killed us in the middle of the night," Duck said, starting to get annoyed.

"Fine, where do you want to take them to?" Asked the driver, starting to wake up as the fireman was getting off the cab floor.

"I can't believe I want to go there, but The Ironworks. As much as I hate going there, it may be needed for our passengers' safety," Duck said, a determined look on his face.

"I'm proud of you Duck, I'll tell the the passengers and then we will soon be off," Said the driver.

The driver and fireman got out of the cab and went into the first coach.

"EVERYONE WAKE UP!" Yelled the driver.

The passengers slowly woke up, cross about how they were awoken.

Don't wake us up like that again," Said a man, clearly not a morning person.

"This is purge, not boot camp," Said an old woman.

"Since, please," Said the fireman.

The passengers all went quiet, waiting for Duck's crew to continue.

"We know this whole purge must be stressful, but we need you all to be strong, fight through this and be quantitative,"

"So can we go back to Callan, get our stuff and leave this rock," Said a man, who had started to hate the railway.

"1, if might be too dangerous considering how much and their were, you don't want to end up like Donald and the others who lost to the purge. 2, We don't want to risk you searching the town as it might get you killed, we will race through Calland down the branchline to avoid death. 3, I think the only law during this purge is we are not allowed to leave this island, if the bridge is being raised," Said the driver.

"Where are we going to go?, being so close to Callan, and out in the open is not very safe," Said a passenger.

"Well, The Ironworks is a good place to go, so we are going their,"

After hearing about the plan, the passenger accepted it. Duck's crew then told the passengers in the other coaches, wo also accepted it.

Soo they set off around the loch and began their journey. The passed the junction to The Fishing Village and passed through Callan.

"I hope the rest of the island is alright, and I don't have to be the one who told Douglas he lost Donald,"

Duck went further down his branchline, although the sun was out, Duck felt very cold inside. So soon reached Tidmouth and saw what was left behind, as well as the corpse a familiar tram engine.

"Oh God, what happened to Toby, it looks as if he exploded," Said a shocked Duck.

"Looks like he had a boiler explosion, I heard most engines on The Mainland have had one," Said the fireman.
