Everyone awoke the next morning, happy the purge would soon be over. But then, they saw something outside.

"I'm going out there to see who or what it is," Said BoCo.

"I think we all should," Said Mavis.

So, the drivers opened the doors and they saw what it was. They were purgers, they were all around the shed. Instead of guns, they all had matches, so everyone knew what they were going to do.

"Can you please just let us survive?, this is the last day of this purge," Said Thomas.

"No," Said what could be described as the leader, who stood on the turntable.

"In fact, why are you doing this?, we always took you where you needed to go, we always brought good for you," Thomas said again.

"Yes, well many of us wanted to kill others without punishment, and now was the perfect time," Said the leader.

"Well you've killed enough," Said Salty.

"No, you're our last kill," Said the leader.

The leader then turned the match on and slowly made it go down to the turntable. The other purgers turned their matches on two, and pointed them at the sheds. However, before the flames could hit anything, they heard another noise.

"It's the radio, don't do anything yet," Mavis said.

Words could then be heard over the radio, they were from the Mainland.

"This message goes up to all the people and engines hopefully still surviving on Sodor. We have heard about all the damage, destruction and death from Douglas. In response to that, we have decided that instead of Sodor going back to normal, it will be shut down. That means that it is too uninhabitable to us. You have until the end of the day to get off Sodor before we take down the bridge. With that being said, we are now ending purge. That also means all crime starting now will be illegal. With that being said, that is the end of our broadcast, good day,"

"To all the purgers, their won't be room for in the coaches, i'll get some vans from Tidmouth for you to ride in," Said Thomas.

"HAVE YOU ALREADY FORGOTTEN WHAT THEY DID TO YOUR FAMILY?, WHY WOULD YOU SAY THAT SO NICELY?," Yelled Murdoch.

"Well, it is our legal duty to help whoever we can," Said the E2.

The other engines didn't know what to say as Thomas exited the shed.

"Thank you," Said the leader.

Thomas didn't say anything as he got onto the turntable, and reversed to Tidmouth Station. He finally reached Tidmouth, and found the vans he was talking about in the far siding by the hopper.

"Thomas, I get it's our legal duty to help others, but you said it so happily, why?" Said the E2's driver.

"I honestly don't know driver, I guess I am just happy the purge is over,"

Thomas then quickly left the station and back to the sheds. By then, the engines had started to move out.

"Get in quickly please,"

The purgers got in the vans, and then everyone set off, their last journey on Sodor.

The engines went slow, they wanted to savor their last journey, and admire their old home before they left. Nobody said anything, they wanted to take in the peace. After a long trip, they made it to the bridge.

"This is it, the end of our time on Sodor," Said BoCo.

"It may be sad, but it is for the best," Said Murdoch.

"And this is a new era for us, we will have new lives," Thomas said.

"Hopefully, the dead are resting in peace," Said Mavis.

"Yes, let's hope," Said Salty.

"Let's get to Barrow, we need to find out what our lives are going to be like after this," Said Arthur.

And so, the engines started moving over the bridge, but as they did, they said one thing.

"Thanks for everything Sodor,"

The End.
