A gasp left your lips as you sat up in bed, jumping awake from the sound of the thunder that was so intense it shook the house a little.

You could hear the rain pouring down on the roof and outside the house but that didn't bother you much.

What terrified you was the thunder and when it crashed again, you whined and pulled the covers over your head in terror.

However, just a couple of seconds later, you felt the covers lift from your head before Jenna gently brushed her fingers through your messy hair.

She didn't bother asking if you were okay or what was wrong because she already knew the answers.

You're absolutely terrified of thunderstorms.

The heavy rain, the lightning, but most of all you hated the thunder.

It was so scary how it shook the house with such force or was so loud that it could wake you from a deep sleep.

The fear you feel is inexpressible and Jenna knows this.

"It's okay." She whispered as she pulled you into her arms. "

"I'm scared." You mumbled against her skin, clutching her shirt in a tight grip for dear life as you trembled anxiously.

"I know you're scared, baby, but I'm right here. You're safe."

As the words left her lips, the thunder crashed again and you jumped, making Jenna tighten her grip on you.

"Shh, darling. It's okay. The thunderstorm is outside, you're safe in here. I promise. I've got you."

Her lips brushed against your head and you squeezed your eyes shut as she hummed quietly along to your favorite song; one she knows brings you comfort and peace.

"You're safe, my love. We're safe and sound inside, I promise. Don't focus on the storm, just focus on me."

Her touch was soothing and it didn't take long at all for you to become lost in her.

Despite the storm continuing to rage on outside, you found comfort in Jenna's touch and her soft voice in her ear as she spoke softly or even sang one of your favorite songs to you.

"I'm sorry I woke you up." You mumbled after a couple of moments of quietness.

"Don't worry about it. I'm happy I woke up because I got to be here for you and comfort you. I know how scared you get of thunderstorms and I want to be here for you through them all."

She kissed your forehead and you tilted your head back against your shoulder so you could gaze into her eyes as the lightning lit the room up for a second.

It was long enough for you to steal a kiss from her lips and that only intensified the comfort you felt from Jenna.

As the thunder crashed and the rain poured even harder, you felt safe and sound wrapped up in her embrace.

"Jenna?"

"Yes, my love?" She whispered.

"Never let me go." You mumbled as you snuggled up to her a little more.

Jenna felt how relaxed and at ease you were and it made her heart swell knowing that.

Because the thunderstorm seemed stronger than ever yet here you were in her arms, warm and cozy as your worries stayed far away and she kept you close.

As she kissed your head, she tightened her arms around you just a touch and stared at you as your eyelashes fluttered against your cheeks and you basked in her warmth.

"Never, my baby. I promise."
