Chapter 4

After defeating the three wolves, Kin, Ryu, Nuar, Gon, and Smok collapsed from exhaustion. Ai and her team approached them. "Are you guys okay? Why are there only five of you? And what about the other soldiers?"

After catching his breath, Ryu answered, "Report Captain Ai, in this area there are 12 soldiers, 4 injured and 8 seriously injured. The ones in critical condition are hiding behind that rock." Ryu pointed to a big rock that hid all the injured soldiers.

He then points to the mouth of the cave where Captain Milovat and his teams go: " And Captain Milovat and four other soldiers have entered the deeper part of the cave through there."

Ai nodded a little then assessed the condition of Kin, Ryu, Nuar, Gon, Smok, and the soldiers hiding behind the rocks. She raised her voice so all the soldiers could hear her voice. "You all have gone through hell. And It seems better for you all to rest and heal yourself. I will continue to find the source behind all of this attack and search for Captain Milovat. We split into two groups. One group evacuated the soldiers and the other group joined me."

After thinking for a moment, Captain Ai finally began to give instructions. "Ryu, you will lead these soldiers out of the cave. Bring my team members to help you in the evacuation process. After successfully leaving the cave, immediately go to the city and report to Major Galv. Clark, you join me to find Captain Milovat and his team."

Ryu and Clark answered at the same time. "Yes, Captain." Ryu began to coordinate the soldiers to evacuate from this cave. Clark gave Ryu food, drink, and medicine he brought.

Amidst the commotion, Kin stood apart, deep in thought. Finally, he approached Captain Ai. "Ca... Captain Ai," he stammered but hesitated.

Ai noticed his apprehension and prompted him. "What is it?"

Gathering his courage, Kin spoke louder, "Let me come with you. I'm not injured, and I can help carry medicine or assist in any way. Please, let me join you."

Seeing the determination in Kin's eyes and noting his minor bruises, Ai agreed. "Okay, but your focus will be distributing medicine and staying safe."

And Kin answered back with a nod. After that Captain Ai shouted at all soldiers including Kin. "Clark and Kin, let's go. Ryu please keep the soldiers safe." She shouted to raise the morale of all of the soldiers for the last time before they split. After that Captain Ai, Clark, and Kin went straight to the mouth of the cave where Captain Milovat had gone before.

While they were exploring the cave. Without Captain Ai and Clark realizing, Kin's face began to look panicked. This happens because he suddenly sees a notification pop out in front of him.

[Currently, 50 soldiers are alive with 19 seriously injured, 24 injured and 7 in good condition]

Kin started counting all the soldiers he met and compared them with the notifications. Captain Milovat's and the team's current condition seems to be 2 healthy, 2 injured, and 1 seriously injured. We need to hurry.

For ten tense minutes, they traversed the cave without encountering any more wolves, a fact that worried Ai. "Isn't it strange we haven't seen any more wolves?" she asked her companions.

Clark nodded in agreement, while Kin, still puzzled, whispered, "Why is that odd?"

Clark was about to answer when Ai explained, "There are two possibilities: either Captain Milovat has defeated them all, or... they're facing something much worse."

Her words hung in the air, heightening their apprehension. Suddenly, the cave widened into a grand hallway, its floor smoothed by ancient hands, torches flickering along its walls. They saw a distant door, embellished with intricate wolf carvings, and quickened their pace towards it.
