Chapter 7: A Room Full of Cats and Chaos

⫘⫘ No One's POV ⫘⫘

Inside the spacious room Takemichi had designated as the "Cats Room," five males were engaged in various activities. Among them was a young child who suddenly walked out of the room and headed to his own.

The four adults, left behind by the young boy, were busy with different tasks.

Takuya stood near the assortment of equipment he had brought into Takemichi's house, carefully setting everything up. His movements were precise as he arranged the various items, preparing for the day's activities.

Makoto was positioned in front of one of the custom-built cabinet beds. He was intently focused on a lilac-colored cat, marveling at its unique fur.

"Look at this one"
He said, his voice filled with wonder.

"It's absolutely stunning!"
Makoto continued to talk animatedly about the cat's appearance, unable to contain his excitement.

Next to him stood Yamagishi, who was nodding along with Makoto's enthusiastic observations. His grape-colored eyes sparkled with amusement as he inspected each cat, one by one. His gaze softened with affection as he noted the various quirks and characteristics of the felines.

"They're all so different"
He said, his voice reflecting his fascination.

Takemichi was busy as well, gently placing a blond-furred cat onto a bead-like towel that Takuya had arranged on the table. He handled the cat with care, making sure it was comfortable and secure.

The blond cat, like all the others, had a distinctive appearance, adding to the diverse collection in the room.

Takemichi wasn't particularly surprised by the cats' unique traits.

Three years ago, a strange phenomenon had altered the animals on Earth, leading to their current evolved forms. Cats with lilac-colored fur and other unusual characteristics had become common due to this change.

Takemichi had grown accustomed to these new variations and didn't question their presence anymore.

As he finished arranging the cats and their accommodations, Takemichi reflected on how much had changed since that fateful year. The room, filled with a mixture of chatter, curiosity, and the soft purring of cats, was a testament to the new normal they had all adapted to.

The cat Takemichi had placed on the table rested on an orthopedic bed designed specifically for feline comfort. Despite the effort, the cats remained in visible discomfort.

Takuya moved methodically, examining each cat with precision. Takemichi stood nearby, helplessly watching as Takuya went through the process. His brow furrowed in frustration, knowing there was nothing he could do to ease their pain.

The cats, though unconscious, emitted faint but heartbreaking meows that resonated with everyone in the room.

Even Makoto and Yamagishi, usually full of chatter, stood silent, their expressions grim.
