Escape

I will walk towards the end,
Perhaps alone, but I won't pause,
To relive the memories I dread—
This time, I will walk faster.

I will walk as fast as my legs can carry,
To anywhere that shelters me,
I'll run, just to break free
From the guilt that's crushing me.

I will walk away from who I've become,
From the monster lurking within,
I won't stop to face the mirror—
Afraid of the reflection, I've grown to fear.
