(Hehe time to make people sad. Will be adding my OC to this.)
*beep, beep, beep*
Vee's screen displayed dots as she watched a toon get chased to the elevator from her hiding spot by the one toon she wanted to keep safe. Never in her life had she thought she's see him again. And never would she have thought it would be as heartbreaking as this.
"VEE! WHAT ARE YOU DOING?! COME ON!"
Shelly yelled, finally snapping Vee out of the trance she was in. With a heavy heart, she ran towards the elevator at the last second. She could've sworn Astro looked like he was asking for help. If only...if only she could've saved him. If only she could've helped him.
To be honest, it wasn't only Vee who was distraught over seeing Astro like that. Well...she was the most distraught out of everyone there.
Dandy's shop soon came into the elevator.
"Hello- ugh- what is up with that dampened mood?"
Dandy physically recoiled at the feeling of everyone's mood. He didn't like that feeling. No he did not. ('Kay I get that he might be sadistic but he doesn't like the feeling of dampened moods. He's okay with fear but not sadness.)
A couple toons looked at and acknowledged him but they went back to minding their own business.
"So...no items? That's okay! I'll be back!"
Dandy soon went back down to who knows where, leaving the toons to deal with the next floor. Althea looked at Vee before trying (key word: trying) to start up a conversation.
"Um...Vee...how are y-"
"Fine."
Vee interrupted the medical toon. She made a zipping motion with her mouth and mentally noted not to talk to Vee unless really important.
The rest of the run was quiet.
[Timeskip]
Vee lay in bed thinking. Thinking about Astro.
Not exactly the brightest thoughts were coming into her head but how could she not think of joining him? A knock resounded through her room, breaking her train of thought. Thank you to whoever knocked because stars knows what Vee could've ended up doing.
"...Hi Vee. I was just coming in to give you something I baked with Althea. She said you were feeling down so...here."
Cosmo said as he handed in what looked to be a pastry wrapped neatly in a box.
"Ah...thank you, Cosmo. Please say my thanks to Althea later when you get back."
Vee looked to the side and for a split second she swore she saw Astro. She quickly shook it off.
"If you don't have anything more to say, I'll best be getting back now...?"
Cosmo stopped as Vee grabbed his hand.
"Please don't go yet..."
Understanding that Vee needed comfort after what happened, he sighed and held his arms out to her. Vee's screen glitched for a while before she finally reached and hugged Cosmo before breaking down, repeating 'I miss him' over and over again.
"Shhh...it's alright Vee...I've got you."
