Behind Jeon Jungkook's retreating back, the attendant finally reacted, turning around to follow him out.

Before the solid wood spiraling staircase leading to the first floor, he saw Jungkook standing on the top step, walking downstairs in a casual and indifferent manner.

The attendant hurriedly ran over, "Young master."

Jungkook stopped. A few seconds later, when the attendant ran behind him, he lowered his eyes and asked with a careless air, "Where did you lose her?"

Attendant: "Somewhere along the outdoor promenade leading to the main building. There are a lot of twists and turns there, so the young lady might have gotten lost in the garden."

 "Okay."

The attendant hesitantly asked, "Then should I go and ask the old sir or will you personally arrange for someone to go and find-"

Without letting the attendant finish, he saw Jungkook starting down the stairs.

 The attendant was stunned.

Only when Jungkook walked around the bend of the stairs did he react, quickly chasing after him, asking in surprise, "Are you planning on finding her yourself, young master?"

Jungkook lazily raised his eyes, "She...."

"Looking for what?" A clear voice interjected. The sound was out of the blue but not arrogant.

The attendant followed the voice down the stairs.

The slender figure of a tall and upright young man was standing at the base of the staircase.

The person was in his mid-twenties. His tuxedo suit brought out his body's long legs and narrow waist. The shirt buttons were meticulously tied to the top button. The man's honest and handsome features were three or four points similar to Jungkook's—but compared to Jungkook, the man's expression looked much gentler and the smile at the corner of his lips was warm and just right.

Only, his pair of eyes were deep. You couldn't see past the dark depths, giving off a cold feel.

The attendant standing behind Jungkook froze and blurted out in surprise: "Eldest Young Master, you're back?"

After shouting, he regretted a bit and carefully looked at Jungkook in front of him.

The servants of the Jeon family knew that eldest Young Master Jeon Yoongi and the youngest Young Master Jeon Jungkook were not born from the same mother. As Jungkook grew older and showed talent far beyond his peers, rumors of the two brothers fighting over the Jeon family's assets had long been circulating outside.

Due to Old Master Jeon's favoritism towards Jungkook, the public opinion gradually turned biased towards Jungkook in the past two years.

And at home, Jungkook never hid his hostility towards Yoongi, his older brother. Feuding back and forth was a common occurrence.

 "En."

The man standing on the first floor answered the attendant's words, walking up the stairs with a casual demeanor, "Just now, what were you two looking for?"

The attendant hesitated before answering, "The Tang family's young miss is lost in the garden. Young master wants to go-"

"It's nothing." Jungkook suddenly interrupted the attendant.

The attendant looked up at Jungkook blankly.

Standing behind Jungkook, he could only see their young master's hand slowly slipping into his pants pocket, then heard him laugh lazily and unconcernedly.

"I was tired of staying upstairs, so I originally wanted to go downstairs for a break. But now that I see you coming back, I'm suddenly not in the mood."

After saying that, Jungkook turned around.

His eyes coldly swept to the attendant, "I forgot where I left the sun lounger I put in the garden, go and retrieve it."

"....." The attendant froze. Only after a few seconds did he understand the meaning in Jungkook's gaze. He repeatedly nodded, "Yes, young master. I'll go now."

After the attendant finished speaking, he quickly walked downstairs, eager to get far away from the battlefield of the two brothers at light speed.

During the few seconds the attendant left, Yoongi walked up the stairs unhurriedly and stopped beside Jungkook.

The man's smile was gentle and detached, the corners of his mouth curved up perfectly as if he had measured it with a ruler, not lacking in the slightest, "The weather forecast says there will be rain this week. I don't think it's appropriate to sunbathe."

"If I say it's appropriate, it's appropriate." Jungkook smiled coldly, "Why do you care?"

 Yoongi didn't bat an eyelid.

"It's not impossible to control me." After waiting for a few seconds, Jungkook turned sideways and lazily leaned towards the wooden banister. The corners of the youth's mouth lifted with a mischievous, untamed smile—

"As long as you tell grandpa that you'll take over the Jeon family, you'll be the future head of the Jeon family. I'll definitely listen to your words then, how's that?"

Yoongi didn't seem to be the slightest bit surprised by his little brother's words. He also turned towards Jungkook, his gentle smile remaining the same: "If you have time to daydream, why don't you think about what to do with that engagement that grandpa's going to stuff you with first."

 Jungkook: "...."

Jungkook's smile faded. He frowned and lowly tsked in a very unworried manner.

As outsiders said, the Jeon brothers were indeed tit-for-tat.

It's just that, the reason why they disliked the other was the opposite of what outsiders had speculated—neither of the two brothers wanted to take over the family's property. In recent years, they have been calculating each other in order to put the family's property onto the other's back.

So far, it was obvious that the older and more independent Jeon Yoongi was the superior one.

After crossing swords with him over the years, the most important point that Jungkook learned from his brother was that he should never expose any weaknesses that could be used against him.

 For instance....

"Young master!" The attendant who hadn't left long ago hurriedly returned to the base of the stairs, interrupting Jungkook's train of thought.

Jungkook frowned and dropped his eyes to look down, "What?"

"It's raining outside!" The attendant was only worried that he had made a big mistake and couldn't be bothered to cover up for Jungkook, "Miss Tang Lisa still hasn't been found—I went all the way back to the promenade and didn't see anyone. Nothing should have happened, right?"

 "—"
