ㅤAn empty bedroom.

ㅤThrough the high-rise, wind-swept raindrops pitter-pattered against the floor-to-ceiling windows of the apartment.

ㅤIn the corner of the floor-to-ceiling windows nestled a girl in a thin white nightgown.

ㅤShe leaned her head against the corner, her dark, long and wavy hair hanging down, covering a portion of her delicate and pretty palm-sized face. Her eyelashes rested quietly on her lower eyelids.

ㅤThe white nightgown exposed her legs that were slender and thin from calf to ankle.

ㅤBut her seldom seen fair complexion further highlighted her prominent delicateness, appearing as if a gust of wind could break her.

ㅤThe rain struck the window for a while longer, gradually slowing down. The bedroom resumed its empty silence.

ㅤUntil the phone screen, lying on the ground by the girl's hand, flashed and then an indifferent and lazy male voice broke the silence.

ㅤ"Hey, incoming call."

ㅤThe slightly altered, digital voice easily awakened the lightly-sleeping girl.

ㅤTang Lisa opened her eyes, her vision hazy as if it were the middle of the night, and she subconsciously raised her hand to rub her eyes then froze.

ㅤ... Ah, forgot again.

ㅤHow come it's been so many years since that accident, and she still hasn't adapted to the condition of her eyes now.

ㅤLisa lightly curled her lips, "Kookie," she whispered into the air, "Who's on the phone?"

ㅤ"From your contacts, labelled 'granny'." The lazy, pleasant male voice responded from the phone.

ㅤ"Answer, remember to put it on speaker."

ㅤ"...."

ㅤThis time no voice answered again. After a buzzing vibration, the call was answered and the voice across the phone spoke.

ㅤ"Little Lili?"

ㅤ"Granny, I'm here."

ㅤ"I'm sorry Little Lili, Granny's flight was delayed because of the thunderstorm—you're not going to that shop today, right? Wait for Granny to go with you tomorrow, okay?"

ㅤ"It's okay, granny, I can go by myself."

ㅤ"Eh? How could we do that!"

ㅤ"And..."

ㅤLisa thought of something and tilted her head slightly. The girl's slender neck tensed up in a fragile curve.

ㅤ"Tomorrow," Resting on the large window, with the vast and empty sky outside the skyscraper behind her, she whispered, "Tomorrow, I'm supposed to go to the Tang house."

ㅤIt was like touching something forbidden.

ㅤThere was a sudden silence across the phone.

ㅤIt took a long time before the woman's somewhat guilty voice picked up, "How did I forget about that? They called you back because Tang Jen... because that sister of yours is getting engaged to the young master of the Jeon family, right?"

ㅤ"Seems like it."

ㅤ"That father and grandmother of yours are so biased, could it be that you're not really the Tang family's child? Only caring about Tang Jennie, it'll be your sixteenth birthday in a few days, yet you're still living outside by yourself. They're not-"
