You would think that after that confrontation they'd stop, right?
Well, that's what Jungkook thought too. Unfortunately, that was never the case. The two never really did stop, they only grew cautious.
It's been 2 months of knowing at this point.
The more they tried their best to hide things, the more that Jungkook had to pretend he wasn't dying on the inside. With every lipstick smudge, smell of lilac, and love marks he stumbled upon, his mask of confidence chipped away little by little.
That's why when his company assigned him the job of going to Milan for a week to take pictures of this year's fashion week, he didn't hesitate to accept such a request. No matter how painful it got to wake up every day, in the end he still had a job to do.
Jungkook takes much pride in his photography. Being a rising photographer in a renowned fashion company was a big deal. He built himself a career and no one could take that away from him.
He had stayed inside their hotel rooms during their free time, ignoring Jimin's plea of exploring the place. Which he felt bad doing, since he knew the fashion designer was only trying his best to help him. However, he felt as though this is what he had to do.
Many nights spent of him in the balcony of his hotel room smoking a cigar, brooding about his marriage. Being away from Taehyung gave him time to breathe freely, his rationality beginning to come back to him. He still cried some nights; loneliness was just too hard to kick away.
He needed to talk to Taehyung.
Jungkook's love for him is forever unconditional. No matter how many times he forced himself to hate his husband, it never worked.
8 years' worth of memories was just too much to forget.
He came to a conclusion one night when he was in the balcony smoking his 2nd cigar for the day. He looked down at an old couple across the street of his hotel, he saw them holding hands possibly going back to their home.
Maybe, this was all an obstacle in their relationship. Maybe Namjoon was right that it could all be a misunderstanding.
After a couple hours of contemplation, he couldn't take it anymore and booked the earliest flight back to Seoul. Fashion week was going to end tomorrow anyways, although he was given an extra two days in Milan as a reward from his company. He just needed to sort this out with Taehyung as soon as he could.
He finally had enough of struggling alone.
