"You still smoke?"
A voice all too familiar spoke out, startling Jungkook a bit. He turned around and there he was.
The man he had been secretly searching for all night was approaching him. Hands in his pockets, his hair was grown out and messily styled. He wore a dark blue suit, fitting the color scheme of the wedding as he was the best man.
Jungkook turned back around to face the city, ignoring the way his heart had jumped up and down at the sight. Inhaling another puff of his cigar, savoring the burn of his lungs. Even after 6 years, the man he loves still looks as beautiful as ever.
"Old habits die hard Taehyung-ssi" He replied lamely. Feeling the CEOs presence beside him.
Taehyung chuckled softly as he looked over the night sky. "Chanyeol and Baekhyun, who would've thought that those two idiots would ever get married" a soft smile plastered on his face.
This time it was Jungkook's turn to laugh because it was painfully true.
The two of them stood there in comfortable silence. Allowing the muffled sounds of cheering and songs dance with the sound of the wind. Despite their painful separation, somehow it didn't feel awkward.
"Do you...-Do you remember our first dance?"
Jungkook wanted the ground to swallow him whole as soon as those words slipped from his mouth. The comfortable silence developed a tense atmosphere.
"Yeah, I do actually... What made you think of that?" Taehyung answered, Jungkook could hear the teasing smile the other had from the tone of his voice.
"Oh don't flatter yourself headass, it's just the balcony that reminded me" Jungkook retorted, his smile betraying his stern tone. Taehyung just chuckled playfully.
The air once again fell in silence. Jungkook had thought Taehyung left him and went back inside, but he saw a hand make it's way into his peripheral vision.
His eyes followed the hand all the way up to Taehyung's face.
"...What?" Jungkook questioned, and Taehyung just shrugged as his hand never wavered. Jungkook got the message and his eyes shot wide open.
"Are you //serious// right now? In your best friend's wedding?" Jungkook exclaimed, he was surprised Taehyung would request such a thing.
"c'mon, for old time's sake" Taehyung pushed, with a stupid smile on his face that Jungkook couldn't get enough of.
The photographer gave in and placed his hand on Taehyung's outstretched one. The CEO placed his hand on his shoulders while he placed his on Jungkook's sides. Their bodies swayed side to side as they re-lived one of their happiest moments together.
They looked into each other's eyes and chuckled playfully. They felt ridiculous, but they kept going.
"So, how have you been Jeon?" Taehyung started, savoring how Jungkook's eyes form into crescents.
"Well Kim, I've been doing fine. I'm now one of the most successful photographers in our company~" The younger couldn't help but flex, even though he knew it was useless since the CEO always believed in him anyway.
"Congratulations, Jeon." Taehyung said, his proud smile did not go unnoticed.
"How about you? I heard you were running your branch in Italy, and how's Director Kim doing?" Jungkook asked. His question was met with silence, as Taehyung looked down with a sad smile.
"Dad passed away 5 years ago..." The Older looked up.
Jungkook couldn't help but tighten his hold on Taehyung's shoulders. "I'm so sorry to hear that... How did he-?"
"He had a heart attack a few months prior and the doctor suggested a heart transplant. But... we couldn't find a compatible donor in time." Taehyung explained, his lips forming a line.
Jungkook wanted to pull him into a hug, but his hands froze in place at the new infromation. Instead, he nodded, not wanting to push Taehyung into telling him any more.
They spent a few seconds in silence. The sound of their moving feet on the balcony was steady. Just like their first dance, they never followed a melody or beat, they just moved how they wanted.
"Do you miss us?"
Both of them stopped their movements. Jungkook was taken aback by the sudden question, he looked deeply into Taehyung's eyes, not knowing what to answer.
He couldn't say no, because that would be a lie. Jungkook wouldn't have been looking all over for him at the wedding if he did. However, no matter how much he wanted to say yes, he doesn't know how long it will take for Taehyung to hurt him again.
Unfortunately, Taehyung never got an answer. As someone had entered the balcony.
The two pulled away from each other trying to act as though the atmosphere wasn't suffocating. The person who entered didn't bother asking.
"Boss, the groom is looking for you" The intruder said and left.
Taehyung cursed at the timing. Wiping his sweaty hands on his suit pants.
Jungkook nodded "Y-yeah I'll be there Joohyun..." He replied even though the person had already left.
This time, their silence was awkward. Either of them not knowing what to do, until Jungkook broke the tension.
"I h-have to get back... It was nice seeing you, Kim." Jungkook said, eyes avoiding Taehyung's.
"You too Jeon..." Taehyung replied, a soft smile spread on his face. With that the younger left the balcony, off to do his job once again.
As Taehyung looked at Jungkook's retreating form, there he knew. Just like the first time they had met in senior high.
It was the start of a new beginning.

AN:- um.... yall please dont hate me . I hope you guys had fun reading!! I had fun writing this, since I've always wanted to write this kind of story.
I know you all wanted a happy ending but this is the best ending i could have thought anytime....its not a sad ending nor a happy ending.... i kept it as an open ending so that you all can hope that in future Taekook will be together if Taehyung will try hard and court him and gain his trust back.........So dont worry..at least its not a sad ending and none of our taekook characters are crying.....They are smiling at the end........
