Singe woke up later that morning, still quite exhausted from the events that occurred in Heaven. The first thing she notices is that her field of vision is significantly smaller. She was hoping that what had happened was only a horrible nightmare or some hallucination, but unfortunately, it was all too real.
Singe got out of bed and immediately stubbed her toe on her nightstand, "Ow! Shit."
Singe then noticed that her depth perception was off. This would take a lot of getting used to. Using her arms to guide her, she made her way to her dresser and pulled out a set of clothes.
She quickly got changed and walked out of her room. The air of the hotel seemed off. There was a sense of energy that was missing. Not everyone knew what had happened, only Charlie and Vaggie, and it would be a shock.
The hotel itself seemed less lively as Singe walked through the halls lacking her enthusiastic light-heartedness.
Singe walked into the lobby and sat down on one of the couches. Angel Dust, who was focusing most of attention on his phone, saw Singe's eye patch and assumed... "Heya Vaggs. Does Charlie have any of those group activities for us today?"
Angel chuckled to himself, yet when he didn't hear a reply, his laughter slowly died down. He looked up from his phone and instantly paled, "Singe? What the fuck happened?"
"Heaven happened, Angie. A ton of power-hungry assholes up on their high horses wanted to take me down a peg."
"Damn. I knew Heaven was cruel... but you're a damn kid!"
Angel was about to continue, but was interrupted by the hotel's front door opening, and Yua walking through, "I knew I'd find you here! Val's finally got me off set for once. How has your life... Singe? I know you want to be like your parents when you grow up but..."
Yua walks over to the couch and sits down on the other side of Singe, wrapping one of her wings around the poor teen, "What happened kiddo?"
"Our meeting with Heaven flopped. Fell flat on its face. That Lute bitch just-" Singe cut herself off, not wanting to replay that series of events again. Singe subconsciously leaned into Yua, silently craving the affection and comfort her wings provided.
The three demons sat in silence for a while. None of them wanted to trigger anything or bring back any bad memories.
Charlie walked into the room. She was talking on the phone. It seemed urgent, "Yes, come here." – "Now!" – "It's important." – "Dad. I need you!" – "Singe needs you."
Singe immediately perked up when Charlie said "Dad" as she knew that meant she was talking to Lucifer.
"Thanks, see you soon."
Charlie hung up the phone and put it in her pocket. She then walked further into the lobby area, "Oh hi, Yua. I didn't even hear you come in. Do you mind if we-"
"Don't mention it, Charlie. Come on Angel, let's head up to your room so we can par-tay!"
Singe looked up as Angel Dust and Yua left. Charlie sat down on the couch where Angel was, and leaned in close to Singe. It was clear that she was having her own struggles when it came to the Heaven meeting. Though she dug them deep down, just for Singe.
"So how are you doing? How's your eye?"
"It's gone kinda numb. But at least it doesn't hurt."
"I guess that's a plus."
...
There was a long pause on both sides, each contemplating and replaying the events of Lute's brutal mutilation. Singe scooted closer to her mother and leaned closer. Charlie wrapped her arm around Singe, pulling her closer and offering her daughter the love she needs.
