The commandant had many of the people around introduce themselves, his tone not kind at all.
He didn't ask them all. Skipping over Belva, Eren and Mikasa as well. He, however, questioned Armin some things and the conclusion wasn't that nice.
The brunette heard some names shouted and other information and only the last one managed to catch her attention. It actually got everyone's.
There was a girl, whose name she unfortunately forgot, who had too much bravery in her. Or she probably was just too hungry, as she caused a whole ruckus over a potato.
She ended up being assigned to run until she fell down and so she got on with that immediately after the rest were dismissed.
The place had many cabins around, girls' and boys' separated. There were quite enough to fit them all.
Belva and Mikasa decided to go and find some beds inside some cabin. Her brother and Armin went on to their own as the girls followed another route.
The cabin was spacious and had quite some bunk beds inside. Not all girls would be in the same cabin as they didn't fit, but a lot were already comfortable in that one.
The girl in front of her found a bunk bed just for them and slipped on the under bed.
It was ironic.
In their now destructed home, her and Mikasa would actually be in the same position at the time.
Once they would hit puberty, their parents had suggested Eren moved into Mikasa's room and her joining Belva.
It was something the little Jaeger was excited about all along. They never got to do it. Their mother never got to transfer her kids' sheets and help the girls fix up their bedroom.
They never got to share light conversations before sleep, while laying down.
This bunk bed here could somehow replace their childhood one. However, the conversations they might would have couldn't be light. They had encountered the heavy reality which haunted their thoughts and training would also let them tiredly sleeping the moment they hit the uncomfortable mattresses.
Belva folded up her old cardigan and placed it on her bed. It didn't fit her anymore. She had grown up a bit. She could, however, still use it to throw it over her shoulders during cold nights.
