Dinner was currently being served and all the cadets were awaiting in queue to take their full plates and then sit down.
Belva was apparently not with Mikasa neither Eren or Armin. She also wasn't near Sasha and was just intensely looking Annie's way.
She was standing a bit forward and now walking to an empty table, her bun as tight as always and face as neutral as ever.
The brunette was being served her stew and still looked the girl's way thinking.
There's been some time after their last exercise in the forest and, since then, there had been no interaction between the two.
Belva was confused by Annie's sudden turn in the past year.
Obviously she always had been cold, but she still daily conversed with her. Was it maybe that she was annoyed by the Jaeger? More specifically, had the incident with the notebook caused her to get irritated?
I am here.
Belva was not a person of words. Neither actions. Surely, sentences like that were not her thing.
She was awkward, afraid to sound dumb, so it was rare of her to express such emotion through affectionate words.
Nevertheless, after that specific exchange, Annie had became distant.
They met up some more after that, for the swimming sessions she had promised her or a short talk or some ODM practice, but slowly they hardly spoke to one another.
She wouldn't admit it to her, but Belva enjoyed Annie's friendship while it lasted.
It was so raw and real. She found it comforting. Because compared to any other of her friends she would truly point out her faults. She was harsh at times.
So, when she made no comment on anything, Belva knew she did things right. She valued Annie's silent confirmation.
But she hadn't even gotten criticised by her for a noticeable period of time and she had nearly gotten used to her absence.
However, as she that night walked in the dinner cabin and caught glimpse of the blonde, she felt a sudden urge to pursue a talk with her.
