Just like the first days, so the weeks had passed.
They had all been three weeks into training and it was all turning into a daily routine. The early awakenings, the demanding training, Shadis' shouts, the afternoon rest and the dinner.
The dinner that always consisted of some crappy meal. The whole week it was a weird soup-porridge thing, which's ingredients Belva preferred not to know, and only on Sundays they were lucky to be served burned vegetables next to it.
If she could change only one thing in the camp, Belva would ignore the uncomfortable beds and crazy schedule and demand a new menu.
How she missed her mother's bean soup at the moment. Or even her freshly-cut salads that she used to complain about.
These were her thoughts as she sat in a dinner table with Mikasa and Eren opposite her, Armin on her side.
She forced herself to eat each night, trying to block off any smell or texture or taste and imagine she was munching on some incredible fried fish and boiled potatoes.
She was in the middle of cutting up her imaginary tuna, before Armin spoke.
"We begin with ODM gear training the other week.", he reminded them all.
Oh, was it difficult to forget.
Shadis had announced their official ODM training was soon to begin two days prior and the reactions were mixed.
It wasn't unexpected for Eren to have been thrilled and Belva, of course, to worry much more.
Sometimes she wondered how life without stress was. She had completely forgotten.
Practicing with Annie wasn't that quick to make her improvement visible, but she couldn't lie that she was practically more skilled than before.
However, the uncertainty in which she did each task was deadly. Her blonde instructor, being insensitive and all, still worried about her extreme self-doubt and nerves. That proved just how nervous she was.
"I know! Isn't that great?!", the green eyed boy on the table exclaimed.
For a split second, Belva wished Jean had joined their table. Then he and her brother would start bickering about his demeanour and the main subject would hardly be spoken of. Or at least, she wouldn't be involved at all.
