The chaos of battle unfolded around him, the clash of claws and teeth filling the once festive air with snarls and growls of desperation. The once-bright lanterns now flickered dimly, barely illuminating the chaotic scene as the rogues – twisted, dark wolves with glowing red eyes – pushed deeper into the heart of the Blue Moon Pack.

Taehyung stood at the center of the battle, his senses heightened and Sapphire's low growl echoing in his mind. His wolf was ready to tear through these shadow wolves, but Taehyung, ever the conscious leader, knew he had to remain composed. His pack's survival was paramount.

"Alphas!" Taehyung roared, his voice cutting through the chaos like a sharp blade. The surrounding pack members turned towards him, their eyes wide and waiting for orders.

"Half of you, gather the women and children!" he commanded, pointing to a distant clearing. "Get them to safety and hold that line! The rest, with me – we're taking down these rogues!"

There was no hesitation. The alphas split immediately into two groups. One charged towards the outer edges of the pack grounds, forming a protective barrier around the women and children who were already being corralled into a safer area. The others rushed forward, joining Taehyung, teeth bared and claws ready, preparing to fend off the relentless wave of shadow wolves.

But the more they fought, the more these creatures seemed to multiply. It was as though they were pouring in from the very darkness itself, their snarls growing louder, their claws sharper. Taehyung was no stranger to battle, but this was different – there was something unnatural about the way these wolves moved. Their eyes, glowing that eerie red, reflected something sinister, something not of this world.

"They're endless," Minjae growled next to him, taking down one rogue only for another to take its place. "What the hell are they?"

"I don't know," Taehyung replied through gritted teeth, his breath heavy as he clawed through another attacker. But as his eyes scanned the battlefield, something flickered in the back of his mind. There was something familiar about these creatures, something he couldn't quite place... until he saw it.

One of the shadow wolves lunged at him, but Taehyung dodged, narrowly avoiding its sharp fangs. As the creature turned back to face him, he noticed something around its neck, glinting under the dim light. A dull, metallic chain hung around the beast's throat, and at its center was a small, dark artifact that seemed to pulse with an eerie energy.

Taehyung's heart skipped a beat. His mind flashed back to the meeting with Jungkook, when the Red Moon pack had first brought that strange artifact for investigation.
"It's the artifact!" Taehyung gasped, his eyes widening in realization. He grabbed Minjae by the arm, pointing towards the rogue wolf with the chain. "Look!"

Minjae followed Taehyung's gaze, his brow furrowing as he too spotted the strange object. "What is that?"

"It's the same artifact that Jungkook brought to us for investigation," Taehyung said, his voice urgent. "The one from the Ruin Mountains. Someone's using it to create these... these things!"

The weight of his realization hit hard. This wasn't a random attack. Whoever was behind this knew exactly what they were doing. They were using ancient magic, manipulating it to create these shadow wolves – creatures that shouldn't even exist.

The Ruin Mountains. The artifact. The shadow wolves. It all clicked into place.

"Someone's tapping into the ancient magic of the Ruin Mountains," Taehyung said, more to himself than anyone else. "They're using it to control these wolves. We've been fighting shadows – they're not even real."

Minjae's face paled as the gravity of the situation sank in. "What do we do?"

"We need to destroy the artifact," Taehyung said, his voice firm. "If we take that down, maybe we can stop this before it's too late."
