Taehyung's POV
The ride back to Blue Moon Pack was quiet. Too quiet.
The festival had ended two days ago, but my chest still felt full of lingering memories his smile when he handed me that ridiculous sandwich, the way he tied the ribbon I gave him around his wrist like it meant something. The way Midnight, his wolf, seemed to calm when I was near. The flicker in his eyes that told me he felt something, too.
But... he hadn't written. He hadn't called through the mind-link. Not once.
Not even when I sent a small message just to say I missed him.
Not even when I'd waited by the river every morning.
"He's probably busy," I told myself. "He's in training, he's learning to be Alpha. He'll come. He promised he would."
But each day bled into the next. And soon, weeks passed.

Jimin saw me staring at the moon one night from the pack house balcony.
"He hasn't reached out, has he?" he asked gently, placing a warm hand on my shoulder.
I shook my head.
Jimin sighed. "You're hurting."
I didn't say anything. I didn't need to.
Because yes I was hurting. A lot.
Because I had fallen.
Hard.
And maybe it was stupid to fall so fast. Maybe it was foolish to believe in a bond when even the other person wasn't sure of it. But Sapphire, my wolf, knew. He had recognized Midnight instantly. And every piece of me longed for him even if I hated myself for it.
Because even if Jungkook had fallen first...
I had fallen deeper.

Jungkook's POV
"I should go to Blue Moon," I muttered, tossing a training spear aside in frustration. "I told him I'd visit."
"Then go," Namjoon, my pack mentor, said, wiping sweat from his brow.
"My parents won't let me," I grumbled. "They want me to finish this leadership training before the next season."
Namjoon raised an eyebrow. "You're training to be Alpha, Jungkook. At some point, you'll have to start making decisions on your own."
That stung.
Because he was right.
I had let my parents dictate my path for so long. I didn't even fight back when they set up meetings with Lisa. When they spoke of alliances and arranged futures like love didn't matter. Like Taehyung didn't matter.
But he did.
He mattered too much.
Still... I didn't go.
Not because I didn't want to. But because I was too afraid. Afraid of the weight of the bond. Afraid of disappointing my parents. Afraid that I wasn't ready.
So I stayed.
And Taehyung waited.
And that was the worst thing I could have done to someone who loved me that much.

3rd PoV
Taehyung, back in Blue Moon Pack, tried to be strong. He smiled in front of his people. He focused on his duties. But at night, when no one could see, he'd curl into his blankets, replaying memories that already felt like dreams.
And Jungkook, back in Red Moon Pack, trained harder than ever—but never felt more lost. Midnight paced in his mind constantly, snarling at the silence. Go to him. Before it's too late.
But Jungkook stayed silent.
And Taehyung started to break.
