Chapter 1:
Ugh, Mondays! My alarm blared to life, jolting me awake. I groggily reached over to silence it, already dreading the day ahead. My name is Amina Yusuf Madaki, and I'm a fair-complexioned, 16-year-old student at Al-Falah International School. I'm in my second-to-last year, and I have a loving family - my dad, Alhaji Yusuf Madaki; my mom, Hajiya Binta Umar Tafeedah; my adorable twin siblings, Aiman and Iman; and my big bro, Sultan Yusuf Madaki, who's studying engineering in China.
As I got out of bed, I stretched and yawned, revealing my bright smile. My long, dark hair cascaded down my back like a waterfall. I have expressive brown eyes and a small nose ring, a gift from my grandmother. I performed wudhu and prayed Fajr, followed by my morning supplications. After a refreshing warm bath, I moisturized my skin and wore my school uniform, making sure to look modest and neat.
I grabbed my iPhone 14 Pro, power bank, and USB cable, knowing we weren't supposed to bring phones to school, but I couldn't resist. Downstairs, my family was gathered for breakfast. I greeted my parents respectfully, and they showered me with praise and blessings. My siblings, Aiman and Iman, chimed in with their adorable voices, and I pecked their cheeks, feeling grateful for my loving family.
After breakfast, we packed our lunch and headed out to school. The 15-minute drive flew by, and soon I was dropped off at the secondary section. I felt eager to see my friends, especially my incredible best friends, Zainab (Zeebu), Hafsah (Amrah), and Aisha (Baby). We've been inseparable since freshman year.
As I stepped out of the car, I took a deep breath, ready to tackle the day. I'm not one to boast, but I'm proud of my intelligence and academic achievements. Little did I know, today would bring unexpected surprises and new experiences that would change my life forever.
