CHAPTER 7
After discovering the diary, Ananya couldn’t stop thinking about the boy from the garden and her strange connection with Pranav. But instead of returning to the garden, she decided to visit other places that might help them.
One evening, while they were having coffee at the same café, Ananya said “What if we try to remember more about our childhoods? Not just from the diary but also from visiting other places, which meant a lot to us when we were kids. Maybe we can remember.
Pranav nodded. “That sounds like a good plan. Where should we start?”
Ananya smiled, feeling excited. “Let’s visit the old library in my hometown. I used to go there a lot with my grandmother during my childhood.”
The next morning, they headed to the library. It was an old building with big windows. Inside, the air smelled of old books. It was a place full of memories for Ananya, but today, it felt different.
“Do you remember being here?” Ananya asked Pranav as they walked through the library.
Pranav shook his head. “No, but this place feels peaceful and silent. I can spend hours reading or thinking here.”I love this place….
They wandered through the library and found a small reading corner. Ananya felt familiarity as she sat down in an old armchair, the same one she used to sit on many times as a child.Pranav picked up a book from a nearby shelf and started flipping through it. “Ananya, look at this.”
He handed her the book and opened a page where an old piece of paper was tucked between the pages. The paper was yellowed, but the writing was still clear. It was a note, written in the same handwriting found in Ananya’s diary. The note said: “Find what was lost, where memories are kept.”
Ananya’s heart pounded. “This has to be connected to the diary,” she said. “But what does it mean?”
Pranav looked around the library. “Memories are kept in books. Maybe there’s something else hidden here.”
They searched the library for about an hour, looking for another clue.
Finally, in the corner of the library, Ananya noticed a small, dusty wooden box on the shelf. She carefully pulled it down, her hands shaking with excitement. Inside were more notes, each leading to different parts of the library, like a treasure hunt.
The last note led them back to the reading nook. Under the same cushion of the armchair Ananya had sat in, they found a small, old key. It felt like Ananya had seen it before.
“What do you think this key opens?” Pranav asked softly.
Ananya looked at the key, and then at Pranav. “I’m not sure, but we’re about to find out.”
