Chapter 12

As the months passed, Pranav couldn’t help stop thinking about Ananya. Even though their meetings were rare, every time he saw her, he felt a sense of warmth he couldn’t explain. At first, he brushed it off, telling himself it was just a close friendship. But now, it was becoming harder to ignore.

Pranav would often scroll through their old messages, smiling at the memories they had shared. Their conversations were filled with laughter and late-night discussions. Every time they met, even if just for a few minutes, he felt his heart race in a way it never had before.

One evening, after a long day at the law firm, Pranav sat in his room, staring out the window, lost in thought of Ananya. It struck him suddenly he had been waiting for her messages more eagerly than usual. The gap between their meetings had made him miss her even more. And then, the realization hit him he was falling in love with her.

It was both thrilling and terrifying. What if she didn't felt the same way? He wished to rewind his conversations with her in a tape recorder, for any sign, any hint that could tell him that her feelings were the same as his. His feeling for her grown day by day.

Pranav planned  to spend more time with her to know if she too have feelings for him. He dreamt of asking her out for dinner or a weekend but the situation was too overwhelming. Ananya was drowning in books and assignments, while he was drowning in legal work and client meetings. It was like finding a window in their busy lives was impossible. Weeks turn into months, and Pranav kept his feeling to himself.

One evening, as he scrolled through his phone, he noticed a photo of them from a year ago—a candid shot of them laughing at a café. He smiled from heart when he found that photo. He decided  to take a risk. He would invite her out, no matter how busy they were.

Pranav typed a simple message: "Are you free for coffee next Saturday?" He hesitated before hitting send, the fear mingling with hope. When her response finally arrived,he was happy that she said yes.

"Absolutely! I'd love to catch up with you. It feels like ages!"
As Saturday approached, he felt a mix of nerves and excitement. He chose his outfit carefully, wanting to strike the right balance between casual and thoughtful. When the day arrived, he found himself checking his watch repeatedly, his heart pounding in anticipation.

The moment he walked into the café and spotted Ananya, everything else faded away. She looked radiant, her smile warm and inviting. She is stunning today wearing a black elegant kurta. They settled into a cozy corner, and the conversation flowed easily. They talked about their lives, their dreams, and their usual routine.
Every shared laugh felt like a thread weaving them closer together.
“I get that,” Pranav replied. “Work has been a whirlwind for me too. But I miss hanging out like we used to.”
There was a pause, and Ananya’s gaze softened. “I miss that too. I didn’t realize how much I needed a break until now.”

The moment felt charged, and Pranav sensed an opening. This was his chance to confess his feelings.
“Can I ask you something?” he said, taking a deep breath.

She looked thoughtful for a moment and he raced with his heart and asked  “Destiny brought us together. Will you marry me ?”

Now she did not know what to tell him, and all she was left with were mute words.
