It had been 7 weeks since they had found out Autumn was pregnant, and everything was going amazingly well. Carly and Sorscha had been told and were really happy for them, and it was only a month and a half until they got to find out the gender. Although Marjorie said she didn't care what they got, they both knew that secretly, she desperately wanted a girl. Autumn was laid out on the sofa with the small black kitten stretched across her stomach, and Marjorie was attempting to put the shopping away without having everything in the cupboards fall on her head.

"Bollocks."

"You alright over there, Marjorie?"

"Yeah, yeah, just don't have any space for the feta cheese in the fridge."

"Marjorie, why did you buy feta when you know it doesn't work well with your body?"

"Wait, how d'you know that?"

"Marjorie, lighting one candle does not cover up the smell after you use the bathroom. You'd need to set the whole bloody room on fire."

"Oh shush."

Autumn giggled and turned back to face the television when she felt a weird sensation in her stomach. She flinched a little and grunted quietly, thinking Marjorie couldn't hear, but it was like she had super hearing.

"You okay, my love?"

"Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing."

"Okay, well, the cheese is in the salad drawer because we had no space for it anywhere else."

"Fair enough... mm."

"Are you sure you're okay, my darling?"

"Yeah, I'm sure it's nothing. Anyway, it's getting late we should go to bed, we have work tomorrow."

"Good idea, you go get yourself into bed while I put some food in the kittens' bowls."

Autumn stood up and felt the same weird feeling she had felt twice earlier. She brushed it off and made her way up the stairs, each step she took making her realise that if all went well, she would be walking up these same steps to go to their baby's room, then their toddler's room, their child's room, their teenager's room. She wanted to give this baby the childhood she never had, with loving parents. She wanted their child to grow up in a household where they wouldn't be scared to go home, where they would camp out in the garden, or sleepover at their friends house for fun, and not to hide from their parent. Her and Marjorie had decided that Roger would not be told about the pregnancy, that he wouldn't even know he was a grandfather until he was lying on his death bed. They didn't want him hurting their child the way he hurt Autumn and Reece. Marjorie followed her up the stairs and jokingly tugged at a small chunk of hair on the back of her head. Autumn giggled at this interaction and headed towards the bedroom. After getting into pyjamas, she and Marjorie lay in bed for a while. They finally drifted off to sleep, the soft sound of gentle snoring filling the room.

Timeskip ~ 1:43 am ~

Autumn woke up and glanced to her side to check the time. The numbers 1:43 were illuminated on the face of her alarm clock. She laid back down and shifted slightly, but something felt... off. She checked under the duvet, and her heart immediately sank. She leant over and started shaking Marjorie in an attempt to wake her up.

"Marjorie. Marjorie! MARJORIE!"

"What is it, my love? What's wrong?"

"I'm bleeding."

Marjorie's stomach dropped.
