A/N: Hey, guys, i wont be posting in long periods of time, but here goes.
KENNY
When I was a kid, my dad put it in me that I was destined for leadership. Leadership of my people, my friends, my family, my life. At least I believed his words until a certain Anya stumbled into my sorry and miserable life and boxed me in shape.
Now you might be wondering why a girl two months younger than me would have so much control over my life. Well, I'll spare the long bits for later, so I'll go with the short version. Please keep arms and legs in for this one.
My mother is Melanie Moreau Gnah, was born and raised in a prestigious family. I won't say this as a brag, but she earns more than my dad, and that's saying something since his net worth is about ten billion; I don't really keep up anymore.
When my grandfather died, Anya cried the most. I still don't get why that is, because she never mentioned how she became adopted by him. All we know is that she probably summoned him with a magic circle, or he did her, and boom! Family reunion next week, and I have a guardian angel.
The family legend states that we get married, but she is technically my aunt, so I have successfully dodged that bullet. She's pretty but...no. My mother, who stayed in England most of her life, says that Anya's roots are there since the King family history dates all the way back to the 1600s in Douglas (I don't even know if that's a person or place).
Now, the important bit, the reason I was to marry her was that I would be head of the barrier clan (Gnah), so I'll need the seeker to help me maintain the peace between them.
The barrier is between the two worlds. We are normal in this one and modern and stuff, but the barrier defines the present, past and future. They have dragons and spaceships in the same era. The people wield incredible abilities, the ones we call superpowers. Anya knows more, but I was never told if I could cross.
When I overheard my father talk to her, they said something about radiation, not the nuclear one, the one that involves instability of magic and all the talk about the unsafety of it. Yeah, well, I hope the next part of that convo was right, and I'm actually going to learn MMA as a school subject!
I'm a pro athlete, and I do MMA to the professional level. Of course, I have no scars on my money maker yet.
Back to right now.
I walk on the sidewalk back to the house that's about four blocks away from me with the papers that were harder to get for a date with the principal. They are just papers for fucks sake! But the line...I still feel that heavily made-up girl staring at me. I shiver at the memory.
As I am busy recovering from the worst trauma of my life, I hear my middle-freaking-name, "PRICE!!"
I groan in frustration as I turn to look at the beholder of that repulsive two-pence worth. Sure enough, when I look at the source of the misery of my ears, it is the one and only Zeus Richard II, and yes, he is Greek.
She has stereotypical blonde hair and blue eyes with a touch of stupidity on top. He is all muscle, zero brains, and a large can of a mouth. Yes, he looks like Greek god Zeus, in thoughts and deeds. Reason one: why I'm single right now.
"You got out of the zoo early," Zeus said with his stupid white tooth smile as he walked over with his silent friend, who seemed not to care too much about what was happening. I like that. I'll punch Zeus without too many distractions.
"Worked late today, a certain Greek monkey wouldn't can it!" I retort with an intentionally bored face. Inside? My blood is boiling. If he gave me a reason, I'd deck him like freaking Holly.
Zeus frowns at my statement and stops right in front of me, so close that I can even see his pores. "You don't belong here," he whispers in rage, "I'll spare you if you kiss that prissy attitude goodbye."
Firstly: Eww, times like a million times. His breath would need a shower after I kick his butt. Secondly: "Hey! I do belong here," I say with my disgusted face on, " And whose daddy wanted help with the Dubai fraud case." I add with a grin as I see his face mortify.
However, as Mrs Nature has a thing against me, my victory is short-lived when Zeus punches my money maker.
OH HELL NAH HE DIDN'T!! If that leaves a scar... I don't finish the thought before I'm pouncing on Zeus. I remember beating the lights out of him in the ring last year. Seems he's kinky for more.
He has no chance to hit back, and even his friend stands back from the corner of my eye. Good.
No.
Not good. He was giving way for some people to come to part us. I give one last hook before I feel strong hands pull me up and away. I don't resist since I am too satisfied with the damage I have done. Zeus looks like he was a recruit for a ketchup-squirting battle. And lost.
I hear my name being called- no, yelled from my far right. When I look, it is Willow with Anya at her side. Great, the two people I would do anything to never disappoint. My heart sank so much I could hear my pulse in my feet.
I hear a breath in my ear before I notice that someone is talking, "Dude, I thought you were done with these things." John angrily whispers into my ear.
"I am never done with Zeus," I shrug him off, but my left hand is still in a hold, it was Ray. "Save it!" I say when I detect that he has something to say, and he lets go. I pick the papers and head towards Anya. Ready for a full ear and a slap if I am lucky today, but I guess I would not be here if I were.
Upon my arrival at the it of hell on the other side of the paved road and away from the crowd, I see Anya's stupefied expression. I mean, this is not the first she has seen me beat a guy senseless, so why the face?
Feeling lost here, I look in her line of sight and realise where my first punch should have landed.
Gale Luxy.
