They arrived in the residents' village and continued moving in a straight line, making turns only where a house was at the end of the road.

The village here was called "Bekham". Why? Because the guy who built it wanted to be remembered.

The van passed similar duplex houses for about five minutes before stopping at one of them. The mailbox said 235, and it looked a lot like the others.

The high roof was tiled red with a window in its front. The cream almost pink paint that covered its walls and some vines growing only halfway up the walls... someone wasn't here in a while. Hell, anyone even.

The front yard was all gravel for parking, and there were about four stairs to get to the porch. There were deck chairs and a couch swing.

"Stop gaping." Lawrence broke the silence, " Get in."

In a single file, the students walked into the house.

Inside, it was like another world. White, blue, and red furniture. Glass everywhere. Medium ceilings. And a giant kitchen island. For breakfast and food fights. Kenny and John instinctively looked at each other and smirked.

The dining table was made from glass, and the couch was a six-seater with a nice woollen carpet on the floor and a glass coffee table. The floors were boarded, and the only interruption in their symmetry was the stairs down and up the house at the far opposite end to the door right after the long hallway. The house could fit three double-decker buses and still have room.

"Guys," Lawrence said as he laid numbered pairs of keys on the dining table. "Pick a key, and that's your room. They are random, so this is the fairest."

So they did. They picked the keys at random. "Aight, so, ama leave." Lawrence headed for the door.

"Dad!" Kenny called in panic, "Our stuff?"

"Basement!" Larry yelled, already shooting for the car and speeding off.

"Okay...so we were abandoned." Kenny slowly turned to his friends and current housemates, "Let's start by prepping this place, then we can tour the school, huh?" He smiled, feeling more like the crew leader now.

Everyone glanced at each other before turning back to him in sync, "Who said you're our boss?" Ray asked with indifference in his features. The crew then suddenly piped up in a fit of who should do the leading around there.

"You gonna do it or should I?" Seth asked Anya from their spot next to the kitchen island.

With a big and long sigh, Anya snapped her fingers, and a burst of energy escaped into the entire room, making everyone either gasp or stare blankly in shock. "I think it's in your best interests that I give the orders around here."

She made her way to the group with Seth not far behind her in step, "We'll split the tasks." turning to look at the guilty-looking teens in front of her, "Kenny, go get our schedules for tomorrow, John and Andy will see to the garage; have the cars, and bike," pausing to turn to Ray, "serviced and cleaned. Willow and Stacy will stay with me to organise our rooms and put in requests if needed. Seth and Caleb will get the uniforms, and as for Ray..." Anya paused with a twitch on her lips.

Ray was confused for a second, but it finally dawned on him that the only thing left was grocery shopping. "HEY!!" he called out just as everyone burst out laughing. Ray's 'The Rock' build did not belong in a market, which made this even funnier.
