Entry 3: I went to the garage today

I'm truly pathetic.

Really...

I couldn't even wait until further into the week. Bright and early this morning, I drove my Mercedes to Dunn's Auto Body Garage without a second thought.

And it's only Monday.

Seriously, it was only nine in the morning! I hadn't even had one of my morning calls with Luke yet and I was running off to see Preston!? Lord, Jesus help me.

After a long shower, contemplating if I should go over there, I got dressed in a white A-line mini skirt, a pink cropped camisole and my flip flops.

After dressing business casual at school all year, it felt good to dress in my skimpy summer outfit.

Okay...

Maybe I'm just trying to convince myself I wasn't dressed like that for Preston.

God, I'm disgusting.

When I got to the shop, I pulled into the parking lot and took a long hard look in my vanity mirror. Part of me was fixing my make up, hoping I looked as good as possible. The other part of myself was screaming at me not to go inside.

I went anyways.

When I walked in to the office, Mr Dunn greeted me with a smile.

"Well if it isn't Parker Lockwood," he got up from his seat and gave me a hug.

When I say that man looks exactly the same as when I saw him last, I mean it. Preston and Alyssa are lucky because genetics will definitely be on their side as they age.

Mr Dunn squeezed me so tight and had me almost hovering off the ground.

"Hi Mr Dunn," I smiled as I squeezed him back. "I missed you so much!"

"We missed you too! Alyssa will be so happy to hear that you're home."

"Oh my gosh, I haven't seen her in forever!" I frowned playfully.

Despite our break up, Preston and I's families remained relatively close. My Dad and Mr Dunn were practically besties and Alyssa and I met up for coffee and brunches occasionally whenever I was back in town.

She was a senior and she was absolutely thriving on the cheerleading squad. I always made sure she had that squad whipped into shape because there was no way I was going to let her ruin my legacy. I was their captain in my senior year and she followed right in my footsteps.

Despite the close proximity of our families, Preston and I had strategically avoided each other like the plague these past two years. This is why I was surprised by his slightly friendly demeanor upon seeing me at the bar the other night.

"What are you doing here? Car trouble?" Mr Dunn asked, breaking my thoughts.

"Actually, I saw Preston the other night and he said I could bring my car in for some maintenance."

Mr Dunn's face dropped and he looked at me suspiciously. His eyes scanned over my outfit as it dawned on him that I was trying to make some sort of impression.

I could do nothing subtly and discreetly. I am always found out.

I tucked my hair behind my ear and pointed to the door that led to the garage.

"Uh, is he in there?" I asked.

"Y-Yeah," Mr Dunn blinked and it was as if his whole demeanor had changed.

"Okay," I smiled and walked away.

He didn't smile back though. He just watched after me with a concerned look on his face.
