YES, MY FIRST LOVE!
THE BOY I HADN'T SEEN IN OVER TWO WHOLE YEARS!!
I'm hyperventilating just writing this. My heart is pounding at a thousand miles a minute.
I literally cannot handle this!
So yesterday, after getting off the phone with Luke, I saw I had some unread text messages from Leah. She was inviting me to hangout as she got into town a couple days after I did. Since it was the weekend and it was better than being stuck inside with my parents, I happily accepted her invitation.
Now Leah and Elijah are STILL together. They've been dating for forever at this point. That was a couple that could truly go all the way. Unlike Luke and I, the two of them getting married this young wouldn't have phased me at all. They were definitely end game.
Because of Leah and Elijah's relationship and Elijah's close friendship with Preston, I knew better than to agree to go to The Basement. Instead, I told her I would meet her at a pub a bit further in the city.
When I got there, I sat at the bar and waited for Leah to arrive. Since starting college, I've probably bought like six fake ID's. Some I lost and others were taken after getting caught. The one I had that night was a pretty good one. Good enough that the bartender actually served me. I only had to use it for two more months and then I'd finally be 21 with my valid one.
I sat there with my legs dangling over the stool. I tucked my brown hair (Yes, I've taken to dying my hair light brown) behind my ears and played a game on my phone. I looked over my shoulder every time the door opened, keeping my eye out for Leah.
When she finally arrived, it didn't take long for me to realize she wasn't alone. Leah hadn't spotted me but I sure as hell spotted her. She came through the doors in a tank top, shorts and sneakers that made me roll my eyes. I was wearing a strapless, skin tight black dress and a pair of heels. Still after all this time, we never got the dress code thing down but that wasn't what bothered me at that moment.
Followed by Leah came Levi... Dylan...Elijah...
AND PRESTON.
"FUCK," I panicked as I threw myself off the stool and onto the ground.
"Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"
I threw all of my dignity out the window and crawled around on the disgusting floor to behind the bar counter.
I will never forgive Leah for this! That little backstabber knew damn well I didn't want to see him!
The bartender walked over to me and stopped dead in his tracks as he stared down at me on the floor with a confused look.
"Umm," I smiled back charmingly. "Can I get a couple shots?"
"On the other side of the bar, sure."
"See," I chuckled. "I can't really do that... My ex boyfriend just walked in and he CANNOT see me."
This man had no sympathy for my predicament but was totally fine with giving me the shots in order to charge me later.
He bent down and handed me a tray with two doubles. I threw them back at the same time and shook my head as it burned down my throat.
I hadn't done that since my freshman year of college.
"Better?" He asked.
"Much better," I sighed.
"Good," he leaned down and grabbed my arm. "Now get out from back here."
He dragged me up to my feet and shoved me out from behind the counter. I rubbed my arm because he was super rough with me.
