"..Pineapples are in my head..." Her feet shuffled as she skipped down the hallway.

"...got no-body cuz' I'm brain-dead..." Her arm brushed the door as she walked into her calculus class.

"Pineapples are in my head..." Her voice quieted slightly as she got surrounded by more people, her fingertips tapping her desk along to the rhythm of the song.

"Got no-body cuz' I'm brain-dead..."

The teacher finally started the lesson after waiting for everyone to come in and get settled. She heard her pencil scratching at the paper faintly through her headphones as she wrote down the notes the teacher was also writing on the board. She gathered that they were reviewing what they learned yesterday today. Her head bobbed slightly as the tempo of the song picked up, a small smile forming on her face. Her eyes scanned the board for anything she missed, and continued on with the work when she found she wrote everything down.

"Violet Keyy!"

Her head raised, pulling out her earbud secretly and making eye contact with the teacher.

"Yes?"

He shook his head, turning back to the board and pointing to an incomplete math equation that he wrote down.

"Could you please tell me the answer to this question?"

His face looked like he wasn't expecting much, but got a more surprised expression when she rattled off the right answer.

"Correct! Very good, Violet."

She smiled, looking back down at her notebook and continuing on with the next problems.

"I just don't get how you can be so unfocused and still be good at calculus 20! I have to put my heart and soul into my classes!" Lucy exclaimed, her fingers tapping on her phone screen as she talked to the girl in front of her. Violet scoffed, smiling a bit as she popped a black olive in her mouth.

"I am focused, Lucy, Math just comes naturally to me. It is universal, after all."

"Oh yeah right, says the girl who doesn't study for anything!"

"Just because you haven't seen me actively scribbling down every last brain cell I have to get a decent grade on a test, doesn't mean I don't study." She laughed.

"Well, you never come to the group study sessions ever."

"That's because no studying actually happens at those, they're just undercover parties before a test."

"She's got you there, Lu." Rebecca points out in her monotone voice, her face glued to her phone screen. Lucy gawks at her as Violet giggles.

"Still bickering, ladies?"

Violet looks up to see the familiar tuft of brown hair that approached their table.

"Hey Rowan! Lucy's trying to convince me my grades are a hoax."

"It's because she doesn't pay attention and she's got an A in calculus." Lucy whines. Rowan sits beside Violet as he shakes his head with a smile.

"How are you still surprised at how Violet is? She's an interesting creature."

"Yeah, next thing you know she'll be joining the circus and doing all the tricks with her eyes closed."

Violet spluttered, spitting out some of the water she was drinking while laughing at Lucy's jab.

"That's g-gold, Lu!" She laughs a bit more before calming slightly.

Rowan chuckles beside her, looking at Violet with a soft gaze. The bell rings, shoving Rowan out of his trance as he gathers his stuff together. Violet picks up her tray and throws away the contents, keeping the water bottle, sliding it into her bag. She catches up with her cliche, grabbing Rowan's sleeve.
