JHOANNA'S POV
"Pansin n'yo ba?" Ate Colet asked while we were all eating, occasionally glancing over at Mikha and Ate Aiah who seemed lost in their own world.
They were both reading from the same book.
Mikha still wasn’t talking much, but unlike before when she’d always scowled whenever Ate Aiah talked to her, now she just kept nodding along and even gave Ate Aiah the occasional smile—which was definitely odd.
"Let’s just leave them be. It’s good to see Mikha lowering her guard with someone other than us, huwag na natin asarin." I said seriously.
Mikha's aura feels different now, she's more relaxed—hindi katulad dati na parang palaging may dalang bigat o pader na nakapalibot sa kaniya.
It's like being around Ate Aiah is helping her loosen up.
"Pansin ko rin, iba 'yong aura ni Mikha ngayon." Gwen replied.
Ate Colet nodded in agreement.
"Oo nga, she seems... lighter."
I glanced at Mikha again, watching as she turned a page of the book she was sharing with Ate Aiah.
Her expression was relaxed, and the usual coldness in her eyes had softened.
It was almost strange to see her like this, pero hindi naman masama.
In fact, it felt like this was a side of Mikha na matagal na naming gustong makita kahit kasi madalas namin s'yang kasama bihira talaga makikitaan ng emosyon ang mukha n'ya aside sa pagiging irita.
"Maybe Ate Aiah’s good for her." I whispered myself.
I started eating again nang may naramdaman akong nakatingin, so I looked up and saw Stacey staring at me with furrowed eyebrows.
"What?" I asked, bored.
Hindi kami nagbabangayan ngayon.
I don't have the energy.
Hindi ko alam kung bakit pero basta, wala ako sa mood kausapin s'ya after kong makita na kasama n'ya 'yong blockmate ni Ate Colet, Nathaniel ata name non, not sure.
"Wala." she said and looked away, so I didn’t bother to reply.
"Himala, hindi ata kayo nagbabangayan." Maloi teased, raising an eyebrow as she looked between me and Stacey.
I just shrugged and continued eating, not really in the mood for teasing or anything else.
My mind was still occupied by that strange feeling I had when I saw Stacey with Nathaniel earlier.
I wasn’t even sure why it bothered me.
"Di ko lang trip ngayon." I muttered, taking another bite.
Stacey was still quiet, which was unusual.
Normally, she'd have some sarcastic remarks or witty retorts.
"May something ba?" Ate Colet asked, noticing the weird tension between us.
"Huh? wala." I quickly replied, waving it off.
"Pagod lang siguro."
Stacey just stared at her plate, not saying anything.
I glanced at her for a second, trying to figure out if something was wrong, but she didn't meet my gaze.
I sighed and pushed the thoughts away, focusing on my food.
Ewan ko sa'yo, Kikay.
Natapos din naman kami kumain at naghiwalay-hiwalay na.
