Dean knew he couldn't move without waking Cas. Dean also found that a part of him, that was bigger than he would like to admit, didn't want to unravel himself from the sleeping angel.
After around half an hour of watching him sleep Dean noticed that Castiel was beginning to stir. Unsure of what to do he closed his eyes and pretended to be asleep.
When Cas woke he noticed that he was being cuddled from behind and to say that he was confused was an understatement. He had no idea what to do, if he moved he would wake the hunter, if he stayed and Dean woke what would he say?
Against his better judgement castiel decided to snuggle back into the strong arms surrounding him and to carefully and delicately draw soft circles on the back of one of Dean's hands. He knew it was wrong to do this as Dean was asleep but what he didn't know wouldn't hurt him.
Half an hour later Dean decided enough was enough and moaned, stretched and turned over before grumbling the word "mornin'" to the angel lying behind him. "Good morning Dean", came the reply. He sat up and told cas he was going for a shower before slowly wondering towards the door.
Dean turned on the shower and watched the water quietly splatter against the floor as he waited for it to go warm. Today was going to be along one, they had their first official councilling meeting with Jo and he was kinda stressed about how it would go.
Meanwhile cas slowly got out of bed after deciding he would make breakfast, he wouldn't mind making pancakes as he enjoyed them when he was human. The first issue he had to face though was what to wear.
A few days before they had set off for here the Winchesters had taken castiel shopping. Cas lived in the same clothes as he was an angel and didn't need to change but in order to fit in he would need to have more than a shirt, trousers and a trench coat on him.
Needless to say it was not a smooth, easy going day. After an hour and a half Dean left to go and find a bar, leaving Sam with a very confused angel. After another hour cas had decided he liked how the boys dressed and grabbed some clothing that was similar to theirs. He walked away with some jeans, a few shirts, mostly flannel and a couple of t-shirts, some plain, some with random wording on and others with band logos on as he liked some of the music Dean played in the Impala.
Today cas decided to wear his dark blue jeans and a red ACDC top believing that it was a casual look. It was also very comfortable for him. Happy with his decision Castiel walked downstairs to start preparing breakfast.
When Dean heard footsteps going down the stairs he walked out of bathroom and into the bedroom, peeping his head round the corner just to double check it was a Cas free zone.
He pulled on jeans and then stood and looked at the tops he had placed in his wardrobe. He didn't want to match Cas. After some thought Dean decided that Cas was probably wearing a shirt so grabbed his black ACDC t-shirt before throwing it on, grabbing some socks and making his way downstairs.
As he reached the bottom step the smell of pancakes filled his nose and he smiled to himself, it had been a while since he'd had them.
He walked around the corner and sat down on the chair with his back to Castiel. "I was planning on doing breakfast" He muttered. It came out meaner than he had intended and immediately Cas became defensive. "Well if you had told me your plans Dean I would have known. I will bin these then and let you do whatever." "I didn't mean- don't bin them they smell great. Just let me do breakfast tomorrow, I enjoy cooking." He hadn't meant to say the last part as it was something he kept to himself, a guilty pleasure but he couldn't help but tell Cas.
The angel also sensed that this was a private secret so dropped the argument and placed the plate with a stack of 6 pancakes on on the table next to the jam, Nutella, fruit and lemon juice.
"I was unsure how you liked your pancakes so I pulled out a lot." Cas stated as he sat. Dean smirked before grabbing the jam "This is my favourite."
Castiel grabbed himself 3 pancakes and the lemon juice before grabbing his fork and tucking in. They tasted pretty good, even if he did say so himself. Dean watched him subtly out of the corner of his eye. The bed head showed that Cas had rushed down here, it made him look young and excitable, like he was always ready for late nights and adventures. The apron over the top of the t-shirt he was wearing was covered in egg and flower, evidence that Castiel's egg aiming skills were not so great. He looked like a university student and in a way it was kinda adorable.
Realising he just called Cas adorable he looked down and focused on his food. However, in doing this Dean missed the way Cas's face reddened slightly for no obvious reason.
As they had finished and began washing up there was a knock on the door. Dean went to answer it.
"HI! I'm Gabe I work here, you're Dean or Castiel right?" He didn't wait for an answer "I'm just here to make sure you've not killed each other yet although that part I'm supposed to be subtle about and also I'm just checking in to make sure you've remembered that you've got a councilling meeting this afternoon at 2. Don't be late, Jo is not someone you want to get on the wrong side of, especially as she knows how to shoot a gun. I've gotta be off, staff stuff to do. See ya around" and with that Gabe was gone, leaving a mildy confused Dean stood in the doorway.
He shut the door and turned around to see Cas. "Who was that?" "Some guy who works here, our session is at 2 and don't piss off Jo she can shoot a gun so we better not be-" Dean stopped half way through his sentence noticing Cas's shirt. "What?" "ACDC"
Suddenly the awkward silence was interrupted by a familiar knock. Dean turned around to open the door for his brother. The taller Winchester looked a little stressed out. "Have you seem Gabe, he is supposed to be coming this way but I need his help on something", Sam then noticed the awkwardness filling the cabin and quietly asked "what?" Worried about what could be wrong.
He then spotted that Dean and Cas were both showing their love for ACDC through their tops. He couldn't help but grin , it was hilarious. "Awkwarddddd", was all he could say before he burst out laughing, much to the annoyance of the other two.
He left the cabin before the argument of who had to change began, a smirk still firmly on his face.
