Grian's Perspective-
Grian watched as Joel left and he turned back to see Jimmy trying to flirt with Scott (and getting nowhere).
"I wonder why Joel always has to leave so early." Lizzie says, narrowing her eyes.
"His parents are...strict." Grian sighed, putting his hands in his pockets.
He was the only one who really knew how Joel's parents constantly argued. Joel never did anything about it and never bothered getting help about it, he just shrugged it off and kept doing his own thing, so it made it hard to tell how he was actually feeling about the situation.
"Well, I should probably head back sometime soon as well." Grian said, packing up his stuff.
"Alright, have a good night." Lizzie smiles and Grian smiles back before slinging his backpack over his shoulder and walking home.
It was a quiet walk, occasionally passing by a couple of dog walkers and people on bikes.
He had thought about texting Joel, but after staring at a blank screen for about 5 minutes, he decided against it.
"Grian! Look up from that phone of yours every once and a while." Grian's mother, Amanda, said.
She was watering plants outside their home, and she had a stern look on her face.
"Sorry mom." Grian slipped his phone in his pocket and walked over to his mother.
Amanda sighed and shook her head.
"Stop spending all your time on it, will you?"
"I don't, I was just texting a friend."
"Well you can text them once you get inside."
Grian smiled softly and his mother kissed his cheek.
Grian walked inside and smelled his father's cooking.
In the kitchen, Andrew was wearing a pink Hello Kitty apron while taking out a pan of bread from the oven.
Grian chuckled, "Hey dad."
"Oh hey! How was practice?" Andrew asked, putting the bread on the counter.
Maui chirped and jumped on the counter. The curious cat walked over and sniffed the bread.
"Ah, not yet you little rascal. It's still warm." Andrew picked up Maui, who meowed and looked a bit angry.
"It was fine." Grian shrugged, "Just play what we like."
"How are your friends doing?"
Grian hesitated before shrugging again.
"I don't know..."
"You don't know?" Andrew raised an eyebrow.
"I think fine."
"Grian, what's going on? Are you guys fighting? Please tell me you aren't fighting over a girl." Andrew sighed, sliding his hand down his face.
"Dad!! You know we're not that stupid." Grian laughed a bit.
"What, are you fighting over a guy?" Andrew asked with a teasing smile.
Grian grumbled and shot his father a glare.
Andrew chuckled, "I couldn't help it, the opportunity was right there."
"Yeah, well whatever." Grian rolled his eyes.
"So what's going on with them?"
"Nothing, nothing." Grian waved it off, "My friends are fine."
Andrew shrugs, "If you say so."
He takes the bread out of the pan and Grian smiles at the smell of banana bread.
"Mmm, something smells good." Amanda says, walking into the kitchen.
Andrew smiles and kisses her.
"Eww." Grian laughed and left to his room.
He collapsed on his bed and saw Pearl, his other cat, laying on his pillow.
"Aw, hi!" He said in a baby voice, petting her head, "Someone keeping the pillow warm for me?"
Pearl stretched and stared at Grian before curling up, her back to him.
Grian laughed and rolled on his back, staring at the ceiling.
He felt someone text him and he checked his phone.
Scott's Perspective-
Scott waved goodbye to Jimmy and stepped out of his car, walking up to the door.
He took out his key and his older brother, Xornoth, opened the door.
"How did you know I was here?" Scott asked, tilting his head.
"Older brother powers." Xornoth smiled and Scott rolled his eyes.
"Did little Romeo drive you home again?" Xornoth asked, smirking.
Scott sighed into his hands.
"Told you I always know when someone likes another person. I knew that Jimmy kid liked you and you never believed me." Xornoth smirked before walking inside.
Scott grumbled, following Xornoth inside.
Xornoth Major, easily the most annoying Major of the family. At least in Scott's opinion. Xornoth was about a foot taller than Scott, and he had a teasing personality. He was blunt, never really knew the right thing to say in a situation, and very sarcastic.
"So what'd you do while I was gone?" Scott asked, catching the soda Xornoth tossed at him from the fridge.
"Nothin really." Xornoth shrugs, grabbing a Pepsi.
"Don't you have college essays to do?" Scott smirked, raising an eyebrow.
"Out of sight out of mind." Xornoth winked and Scott laughed.
"But yeah, I should do those before mom gets on my case. Later dummy." Xornoth ruffled Scott's hair and walked upstairs.
Scott sighs and he sits down on the couch, thinking.
Jimmy was cute...I guess. Do I even like him that way? What do I say?
Scott bites on his nail. The last time he thought he liked someone, he was actually lying to himself and he ended up in a bad relationship, he didn't wanna risk that again.
-
"What do you mean you think so? Have you been lying to me this whole time?"
"What?! No, it- it's not like that!!"
"Then what's it like?! Huh? You're just a manipulator who wants attention, aren't you?"
"I- I thought I liked you, I really did!"
He scoffed and rolled his eyes.
"Whatever, I'm through with you."
