As Jang Soo-min walked through the hallway, she glanced at him from afar, feeling her heartbeat quicken. 

It was always the same. Her heart had its own rhythm around him. 

The moment she saw him laugh with Jeon Hana, her smile faltered, just for a second.

 A second that meant everything.

Soo-min sat at her usual spot in the cafeteria, her gaze fixed on Kim Taehyung, her savior, who was laughing with his friends and his girlfriend, Hana, Soo-min's best friend.

It should've been a normal day, but Soo-min's heart ached with every chuckle and shared smile, every time.

Hana, with her cheerleader spirit and effortless charm, was Taehyung's perfect match. 

Soo-min tried to push down her feelings, but it was like trying to hold back a tide.

"Hey Minnie, you okay?" Hana's voice cut through her thoughts.

Soo-min looked up, forcing a smile. "Yeah, just tired," she said, trying to sound casual.

"Ahh..Okay. Take care. And don't go so hard on yourself, miss topper," Hana said with a cute teasing smile, to which Soo-min just laughed at.

Hana's eyes sparkled as she turned back to Taehyung. Soo-min's chest tightened. 

How could she feel this way about her best friend's boyfriend? She wanted to be happy for them. 

They were so perfect together, after all.

Soo-min watched them, feeling like an outsider in her own life. "They're a god-made couple," she thought. "I should be thrilled for them, not suffering like this."

But no matter how much she tried to convince herself, the guilt and sadness were always there. "Why can't I just be okay with this?.................No, no,......no..................I have to be okay."

Her phone buzzed with a message.

Hana : Want to join us for a movie tonight? 🎬🍿

Us. She sighed. Her heart sank. 

Soo-min: Maybe next time. 😊

 She typed back, already knowing she wouldn't go next time too. She needed to avoid the reminder of what she couldn't have.

"Is it always going to be this hard?" she asked herself, feeling the weight of her unspoken feelings.
